One important thing: while running the ngrok command you can use the -region flag to set the region the server is in. By default it is us. But if you live somewhere else there are some arguments us - United States eu - Europe ap - Asia/Pacific au - Australia sa - South America jp - Japan in - India There is the region where ngrok client connects to host its tunnels. I found this in the documentation btw.

"Unknown Host" seems to be a common bug or error that just means you'll have to keep trying.

i didn't know he put this into the video but: to get to the ngrok exe (2:28) you can also run this into cmd: D: (only if its on your D: drive) cd "D:/Path/To/nrgok" replace Path/To with the path to ngrok which can be found by clicking on the folder bar thing on the top in windows explorer and copying that

@@rapax5898 nope, but tunnels are limited to like 10 uses or sth like that and after that you have to pay. Pointless to use it when you want it for a server, i'm using playit rn and it works way better, no need to add any card numbers and stuff like that.
I find it out but there are so little bandwidth one people can use it around 15h so if your server is on your pc and you join with local host and play with to friends there is only 7.5h to time when your friends will cant join. 7.5h per month is not much and every player is on server you will have less time

once the server starts i cant join using the ip it gives me. local host ip works just fine it also says all the 'connections' on the ngrok cmd prompt window, like ttl, opn, and rt1 are all at 0
connections are how many people are connected i believe also dont copy the entire tcp//{url}, copy only the url without tcp// and make sure to join using the port it gave to you, otherwise it may not work

hey i know this is a really old tutorial but my server was working fine until i got email saying 'You've exceeded your free ngrok Data Transfer Out limit for the month' now it says an existing connection forcibly closed by host, i had set out a server last year using this method and it worked fine with no issues like this for months i made a new one this month and this started happening
just host a server with your pc, a forge server with the mods you want, and then with ngrok do port forwarding in order to your friends to join the server

Im not sure what you did, explanation not clear. Make sure not to open the exe file like I said in the video, but run it using the command line commands

you have to use a cname, not an AAAA and cnames are disabled in freedns i believe

not only does it mask your real ip, it also masks the ip of whoever joins

You can access the context menu option by holding shift while you right click in the target directory.

They are port forwarding for you on their server, then directing that traffic back to you
You are hidden behind them, so yes, your IP is safer

idk if u know yet but just type "op" in the server cmd prompt
go into the command prompt where you started your server then at the bottom just type /op then your java username and press enter

This can work for Java or Bedrock, Bedrock just uses a few different settings, you also can do it on any version that supports multiplayer I guess
