I have been diagnosed with bi polar 1 with psychotic features. I've been hospitalized a total of 4 times. I believe a lot of it has to do with smoking weed. I went off my meds (abilify) cold turkey around in 2023 of April. Today I feel I'm 100 percent. I feel like this is where I've always wanted to be. And I give God glory. I know you can be free too!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us all. I went through an initial bad phase with Lyblavi but now it's my rock. I believe it's olanzapine + an appetite suppressant. I also gained about 20 pounds on olanzapine so I'm slowly losing that now while on Lybalvi. Looking forward to the next life update, things are really coming together!

Thanks for that :) Things are coming together right now, and I'll make sure to give updates! Also, maybe if I had braved the first part of it, I would be on Lybalvi now too.

For me, we tried Abilify. I was up to 30mg/day. after like 2.5 months, we determined (a) it wasn't effective and (b) it was making me very weird. It didn't calm me down at all. I think it made my blood sugar really high. I ended up responding to Seroquel, but needed the dose to be 700mg/day with an antianxiety and gabapentin for this damn anxiety-paranoia mix. With this, I can study my master's and live a pretty normal life, though I cycle throughout the week. Abilify just made me space out like la la land. I think being bipolar that when we sleep we feel like it's abnormal, but in reality we are just sleeping. like the highs become normal. Abilify did NOT help me sleep at all. So i guess it depends on each person.

It's good you found something something works for you! Also with the sleeping for me, I've been sleeping an abnormal amount - like 12 hours a day - since I went up on Abilify. I was sleeping about 9 before that so I thought 12 hours was just too much. That being said, I think going up was necessary because during transition periods I have a tendency to get manic. Also, I do feel a little spacey and disconnected from my emotions while I'm on Abilify. I failed to mention that in the video.

@@BipolarGossamer Abilify made me like a space cadet. On 30mg, I don't really remember have any feelings at all. I was just blank all the time. The Seroquel works but it took a long time to heal and tolerate it, and even still I sometimes will get super tired from it. But, i do sleep at least 5 hours now. Odd too everyone is different. Abilify made me cloudy, but never helped my sleep. I wish I didn't need such a high dose, but everytime we try and lower it, I go bonkers. Abilify just wasn't enough to bring me out of mania. I was stuck like that, sleeping 2 hrs/night, for 3-4 weeks at a time for months on end. Abilify didn't help, but did give me side effects.
