All these years and I didn’t know that Debra Wilson voiced the grandma like that on purpose. She deserves an award for speaking like that. It’s sounds painful..
The funny thing is that she was never meant to sound like that in the special! The only reason she sounds like she’s speaking an alien language is because most of her audio files got corrupted in the middle of post-production and they couldn’t get Debra back to re-record her lines!

@@edenxela According to Kennedy Rose, daughter of executive producer, Christopher Rose; she had a copy of the script and said that Debra’s character was meant to say actual lines of dialogue! Debra even mentions in the Polygon article about how her character was meant to be disheveled and has trouble trying to get her words out, but she said she “doesn’t remember any sycophantic behavior during her work on Rapsittie Street Kids”.

I saw an interview with Debra Wilson by a fan recently and she was asked about the grandma and it's crazy, it's not edited or a corrupted file, she can just do that with her voice at the drop of a hat. It was crazy lol

A majority of the film's budget went to hiring Hamil, Jones, Cartwright, and the rest of the talented cast. The rest of the $3.15 went unro the animation.

That poor producer, though. I was dying of second-hand embarrassment before they even finished the story. Not in a funny way either. I knew where it was going and I was just cringing so hard.

Don't get me wrong, without knowing the context Rapsittie Street Kids is still a bizarre masterpiece of unintentional comedy but ultimately its tragic seeing all this voice talent go to waste..

I rewatched this movie this year, and I noticed that a ton of the music is in a minor key. It makes the whole thing sound like a horror movie, which is pretty on brand, honestly. 🤣🤣

Cutout animation (also known as Lumage animation) is an art of its own. I recommend checking out "Twice Upon a Time", the first mainstream animated movie to use cutouts.
I looked up Debra wilson and as of 2022 she is the voice of both Amanda Waller and Daysi Duck... this lady's good at her job.
She's a definite legend in the Voice actor list 💯

I remember another animation programme that was similar to this at the time this film was released. That was Microsoft 3D Movie Maker. I made my first film on it in 2001. It was called 'Killer Cop The 3rd Prequel' and I remember saying to one of my friends, who I screened my film to, that imagine what it would be like if we could put our films on the cinema screens at my then local cinema? My friend replied by saying, it'll be good but the films will be blurry.
Judging by this film's production I'm so glad I listened to my friend.

I get the impression that she was just fucking with the movie XD

It make me wonder if Walter Jones would had a good voice acting career like his predecessor JYB.
This was very much a Xenu production. The voice of Bart Simpson was in the same Scientology temple as the scammy executive, the one that held it from the Lost Media Wiki for cash. He got her on board, and she cold called other people to secure funding. So yes, Scientology deserves a credit in the roll at the end.
