    I just ordered 24 rainbow shiners and about 40 White Cloud Mountain minnows (a dozen of them gold) to go in my 270 gallon fancy goldfish aquarium. I can’t wait to get them! I love seeing yours with the goldfish. They are not common in the hobby and I love the idea of having an unheated aquarium.

    You can put white clouds, zebra danios and golden barbs with them. That's what I have with mine and they are doing amazingly well.

    I have to keep my water level like 4 in below the top because I can't keep the temperature down without a fan and I'm tired of finding fish chips on my floor 🥲

    • @AquaMalik

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      in the winter about 70F to 73F and a bit warmer in the summer! they don't seem to do well above 75F long term. hope that helps! cheers mate!

    Could these fit in a 10 gallon. If so, how many?

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it’s a smaller group of about 5 to 7 fish I don’t see why not ! Cheers

    • @CociesrosHp
      @CociesrosHp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is way to small for shiners, 10 gallon only work for the smallest fish species. Shrimp or a betta can fit in a tank of that size, or maybe a small group (5-7) of Hyphessobrycon amandae. Rainbow shiners should have a minimum of 30 gallons. 20 gallons is ok for shorter periods like when breeding them.

    hello Malik, i like these fish, nobody sells them locally, where did you get yours, and what is a fair price for them. thanks

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      they are a bit rare and harder to find! a fair price depending on where you are (southern US free cause that's where they are from!) to about $7 to $10 here in Canada! I would assume they are similarly priced in Europe too! check with local fish clubs! best of luck!!! Cheers!

      Just got mine from a LFS in New Orleans, called Aquatic Sealife. 18$ a pop, I checked all major online stores and sources. Nobody has them in stock. I’m going to Alabama soon to collect some wild caught rainbow shiners. I want to get my hands on the rainbow shiner “type 2”.
