I Bought the PRETTIEST US Native Fish (Rainbow Shiners)

- North American Native fish are under appreciated in this hobby and should be given more thought when we decide what fish to keep. Hopefully todays video will show you all just how beautiful natives are and that maybe we should consider keeping them in our aquariums. Especially if we want to avoid using heaters and all the issues they bring, natives are a fantastic choice.
The prettiest native fish in my opinion is the rainbow shiner. From the first time I saw this fish I could not believe this fish was from the US. I didn't think anything that pretty lived in our waters but was I wrong. In the coming months I hope to start showcasing more amazing native fishes for you all and to show you all the wide variety of species that we have that we are sleeping on.

No, not that same person. We got our rainbows shiners together from another youtuber and he was holding them for me until I could take them.

Love rainbow shiners. They can be caught about 60 miles south of me.
I wish they were that close to me. Granted they are only like 4 hours away unlike some people but having them that close would be nice.
Have you ever gone out to try and collect them, either through dip nets, seines, or hook and line?

Currently I haven't been successful in spawning and they person I bought them from is currently sold out. Though when I do start breeding them I do want to sell them.
I love these but not even close to the prettiest native fish here. Rainbow DARTER man. Come on hahaha.
