Changing the the text in the cue sheet to .bin didn’t work for me. I had some even listed as .iso in the original cue sheet that I even tried to rename as .bin with no success. The only way I could get the games to run without any hang ups with the, “ please wait” was to recreate a new bin and cue file and to copy the existing cue sheet tracks to the new cue file. As well as changing the case sensitive bin file in the new cue file. Once you do this your computer will automatically make a .bak file for you. Take all three files and put them in your pcengine folder and rename each one the same as the original files that didn’t work and you’ll have your game running just fine.

Thanks man! I downloaded Dungeon Explorer 2 and had no problem. Which is a bin and cue file. But this iso one was more of a challenge

I was able to successfully do this for the only few games I tried it on, but a couple weeks later after a re-flash, I was transferring BIOS files and rather than read exactly which region of which BIOS i needed just dumped the whole friggin lot of them I had collected over the years in the bios folder... AND THEN THEY ALL WORKED!! with no renaming whatsoever!! =D
Very nice. The PC Engine/TurboGrafx-CD was one of the toughest consoles to emulate. I remember the hassle of setting up each file with in a game and then burning them to a CD. It was worth it, especially for the pricey titles like Dracula X and Double Dragon II.
out of all the PC Engin emulators. i like Turbo Engin the best for CD games since you dont have to mount the ISO files

Thanks for explanation. My fault was, that i had one false quotation mark at the end of the name of the game in the cue-file. i was near a nervous breakdown, because i could not believe that the games doesnt work. So watch out and check your little quotation marks!

1) Is the intro audio supposed to be in German?
2) I can't get this game to run on Retroarch on my Android phone or windows 10 PC, despite following your .cue file editing instructions, and placing the syscard3.pce file in their respective proper BIOS folders. Is there any advice you can give me?
Is there a folder within retropie where I can put these games to keep them separate from PC engine? I dont want to have to switch bios constantly.

Im still having trouble. I have the correct bios, I changed the text to match what you have in the CUE , I have the iso and still nothing. Im on 4.2 still, does that matter?

I saw on your video you have in your list 1941: counter attack. Is this playable. I have all the roms for the pc engine but 5 roms are not running.
Please i need some help.The roms are
1) 1941 - Counter Attack
2) Aldynes - The Mission Code For Rage Crisis
3) Battle Ace
4) Daimkai Mura
5) Madou King Granzort
I use also the bios file but only that 5 roms are not working. I have downloaded a lot of copies of these roms but none is working. All the other roms from the pack are working gret.Any idea?
Running RetroPie 4.5.7 and I can't get them to launch. Correct BIOS file. BIOS' MD5 and CRC32 matches the one on the Retropie Wiki. Tried several different roms including "*.bin", "*.iso" and "*.chd". Information in the CUE file contains the correct file name information. Same exact name on the first line FILE "XXXXXXXXXX" BINARY. Nothing is working. Tried multiple emulators including lr-beetle-supergrafx. Any help?
my roms are CHD extention... without the bios nothing happens. with it... i get to a screen that says PUSH RUN BUTTON but i can never get past this screen :/

I've been using this method to install PC Engine CD games on the latest Retropie build (4.4 at my time of typing this) and I'm encountering some performance problems.
Games boot up without any difficulty, but I've found that they all suffer with random, intermittent slowdowns. This is noticeable as the sound appears to drop out momentarily.
I'm using a Pi 3. Does anybody know if there are any I can tinker with to fix this issue?
Wow I haven't found another person having this issue!! Did you solve it man? This stuttering every 3 or so second makes the games unplayable!!

What about .ccd files?
I found a zip file on archive.org with 33 different BIOS files for a bunch of systems including the BIOS for the PCEngine. Just search on google for syscard3.pce, Then scroll down till you see "OpenEmu BIOS Pack" from archive.org. Have fun fellow retro gamers. Gotta keep these alive.
Every time I try to use notepad for the iso file it just shows a jumbled mess of symbols.
Try using notepad++
How did you get the iso file? The only thing that I got out of my zip file was the cue file.
Process is the same rather you're using ISo or cue

Not unless you figure out how to put retropie on the retrocade. This is why ppl use pis instead of pre built Chinese emulator boxes ;)
Also master system plays fine on pi you just drag the rom into the folder. No real need to make a video on it
Okay. Thanks for the reply. Yeah I got the Super Retro Cade because of how affordable it is. As a Retro Pie is quite pricey. I will probably invest in one in the future though. Overall the Cade does play a lot of games. Even Neo Geo.
Raspberry pis are 35 bucks the kits are 60. How much was the retrocade? I have a few friends who have the retrocade they enjoy it
It was about $54 with the 10% discount code and free shipping. It is pretty good out of the box and it plays a pretty good library of games and consoles. Minus the SMS and certain Sega arcade games like After Burner, Hang On, Thunder Blade, Out Run..etc... Anyway sadly I don't have any extra money to throw around right now. I would rather just buy a built Retro Pie. Which is less than $200. But it will be a while.

I had problems just unzipping the file I needed a bin extractor. Argh total head ache so far
