My guy, 12 years later and you're still a legend. I have my Numerical Methods exam tomorrow and was scared of this, but now I feel a lot more comfortable with this work. Much appreciated.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I've searched so many videos trying to understand how to do this and in two 8-minute videos, you explained it so clearly and simply. Thank you so much!
You're the absolute best man. When I was going through undergrad math in college, my institution implemented your videos into every homework assignment we had all the way from algebra to calc 3 and beyond. Thank you for what you do.
Thank you. Much clearer than my prof. I still have questions... (just the differences of steps and rules my prof uses...) but this provided a good understanding of the concept
thanks for the video, our unsung hero. Wonder why its always complicated when a professor teaches the subject, and its always understandable when someone on youtube does it
@@Mathispower4u Yes Yes. Sorry to bother you, but can you tell me briefly what should I do when a line has only zeros and therefore LU multiplication cannot be done? I searched a lot for something like this on the internet and couldn't find it :(
I would rather give money to youtube for my education than these worthless professors. Its really getting ridiculous. How DF do they keep their damn jobs. You made it easy. thanks.
you are more then a lecturer..it is well articulated and understood.thank you for making life easy...i have passed my Numerical Method module to the fullest through your support.
Good question. By using R2, we don't lose the 0 in column 1 in R3. If we use R1, we would lose the 0 in column 1 R3. You can technically use any two rows, but we don't want to lose 0's in the process. Whichever rows we use, it should not affect the answer as long as the row operations are performed correctly.
Best of all. I have been watching many of your videos. They are all very good. Just a suggestion that you include the name of playlist in the video. It is very tough to find related videos in your playlist.
what if you used 2 multipliers? For instance if you had to do 2r1-3r2 and are you allowed to perform scalar multiplication as a row operation in this method?
What if your multiplier gave you two zeros, wold you add the multiplier *-1 to the L matrix for the place you intended to be zero on the right matrix, or dot you add it to every position that became zero in that turn. For example, let's say the last row of A looked like (5, 5, 1) and the first row looked like (1, 1, 1). If you use the multiplier -5 you would get a zero at both fives even though we were just intending for the first five. So would it then be appropriate to add -5*-1 to the locations of both zeros or just the first one?
not sure if you will see this, but firstly i wanted to say great video :) very helpful. however, could you explain why this method would ever be used over using gaussian elimination on the augmented matrix? thanks so much.
I apply my own row operation like the one suitable from my point of view so Im getting different values of y1 y2 y3 not the ones you derived so is that an issue or the values can vary according to row operation ? reply ASAP I have an exam.
