You're right, Seth, there were others, like Jesse, who wanted to leave the "bar". But the difference between them and Craig was that they let their "friend" convince them to stay. Craig was like "fuck it, then you're on your own. I'm going home"
Its always a weird balance between wanting to entertain the challenge's rules vs actually acting like real life. I think it should be all or nothing, explicitly stated that you can leave ALL challenges if possible, and if they really wanted you to stay say that dude is your brother or your boss's son or whatever
People need self defence to protect themselves from Jeff Chan. And craig is too Aussie for the simulation, being able to spawn beer in front of a police interrogation.
Lmao I just noticed that. He enters with no beer, next minute there's a beer next to him in a police station as he's been questioned about a bar fight. 😂
Please get Josh Beam BJJ in on this. Jordan was cool but he went on with the attitude of only relying on traditional sport BJJ sometimes at his detriment. I think Josh would show how the knowledge of BJJ (Grappling techniques in general) COULD help in a self-defence situation along with an openness to other borrowed techniques as I think that is what a practitioner would do in an IRL scenario. Also, taking into consideration Jordan's unfortunate injury mid-season I do think the fans are in for another try. He made his last video with Jesse so I don't think he'd be hard to contact. I get S3 may be too close for such a suggestion, maybe S4,S5? Idk, sorry if I was too intrusive, yours decision, just wanted to give a little suggestion. God Bless.
Season 3 should be Season 1 vs Season 2. Problem is Icy Mike is a midget, Ramsey Dewey seems to have burned the bridge, but in that case Jeff Chan can be on Team Season One, evening it out.
Dude. Poor Rokus, he worked so hard on these video, he put absolutely everything into them and the TH-cam demonetized it?!?! I feel like we all need to band together and do something for the guy, that's terrible. His views aren't what they deserve at all, shadow banned?
Love seeing Jeff come in like "I'm going to knock out every person in this room" and then Ranton is immediately after him being the most chill dude in the world while getting punched in the head. (I think the earlier version of this comment got rejected, so I'm trying to soften the language)
That’s because he actually fights in the world. He’s been in these scenarios before. He isn’t training to fight 1 guy he’s just living life and gaining experience.
@@israelhernandez5431 He's also good friends with the guy who runs the facility and has pretty much been confirmed to have gone through most all this stuff before. A lot of this comes down to meta knowledge for what exactly a specific challenge is testing for and not necessarily how well a person performed which gives him a serious advantage. Everyone else for most of the challenges is going in blind, and the discrepancy becomes far clearer with the non obvious challenges like the awareness of your surroundings challenge. I really don't like the fact they're calling him an average joe because the meta knowledge alone seriously alters a lot of this, I get it's because Rokas clearly finds it better for views to present it as that but even outside of the meta knowledge the man's got years in background of boxing as well, which makes it pretty disingenuous.
i honestly think that if they pitched him like that he would sound even cooler than regular guy Craig lol. He clearly knows what he is doing guy is beast and seems to have good awareness too. badass.
Even though I don't think Jordan did that well under this scoring system, I feel like his round highlights a problem that remains from last season, how are they scoring damage taken/given? With the exception the knife stuff it all seems pretty arbitrary, if you get touched you got hurt. When really Jordan had such great control even doing something you're allegedly not supposed to do that if I were one of the guys attacking him I wouldn't go home thinking I won. He sat on two guys completely preventing them from standing, he held two guys in such a tight clinch that their strikes were baby punches by necessity, even the last scenario he was able to keep his attackers so focused on grappling that they barely hit him before it was over. A pro fighter like him would go home feeling less sore and hurt than a regular sparring session, that's after being attacked by 6 guys. If he had thrown strikes instead of being purist I feel he would've been right under Natan, but regardless next season needs a more robust damage criteria. Last season it was really bad when the organizer tried to say Mike beat Jeff Chan, when it was so obvious Jeff was causing the most damage it threw me for a loop.
Agreed, the shank tank exposes this problem even more. Spoilers: Jeff pulls a kick that landed clearly and it was not considered but some of the weakest arm punches by Ranton counted. Jordan also threw plenty of up kicks that landed clean and we're not considered knockout shots. Meanwhile all touches by the blade are treated like lightsabers even when the attackers (or in some case the defenders) hold the knife by the blade in order to switch hands. I am enjoying this season, but the criteria still needs to be more developed or all participants will need to start acting like Nathan and striking full force as if it was a real fight, which is not sustainable.
@@viniciusdias5887 Yeah, Natan's strategy made it undeniable when he won, he even genuinely knocked one knife attacker out before he got fake cut even once. But obviously not everyone can do that to the volunteer attackers for safety reasons. They either need to implement an honor system like everyone who has ever sparred knows (though these are "self defense" guys who generally look down on all things proven combat sport/martial arts) or they need to make it clear you need to go full out, holding volunteers and contestants to the same damage criteria. The knife stuff isn't great still, but it was better than season 1's. That lightsaber thing you mentioned was ridiculous then, and they 1. used a sharpie tip instead of a rubber training knife and 2. gave the giant attacker a disproportionate amount of safety gear where he couldn't even feel strikes. How nobody thought it weird in season 1 that each unarmed martial artist "killed" a few rugby players with knives while outnumbered in hide and go stab, but in the shank tank out of 30 rounds only 1 person barely survived once is beyond me. Even in season 2 it only proved having a weapon is better than no weapon, we know that already, why not give both people weapons and see if "winning" a knife encounter is possible with fight training?
Natan is a good reminder of what can happen when you start a fight with someone you don't know. Secret UFC fighter, you and ALL your homies going to the hospital xD

This was a great episode I loved the bar simulation. Jeff was hilarious and when he said he atracked back in self defence when he threw the first punch of the night! Just too funny. He & Natan were so smooth throwing hands.

People don’t think about these things but they should do

I had a big guy pick a fight. I managed to talk him out of it. He accused me of ashing a cig in his drink. I said "if i did, im sorry, it was an accident. Lemme buy ya a fresh one." And he tried to get in my face but I put a chair with my legs on it between us, and then he asked if i had a gun, and i just grinned and stayed quiet and he said he'd beat that gun off me and i just grinned and chuckled and he asked me what was funny, and i said "i just don't know why you're mad. I apologized, explained it was an accident, and offered to buy you a new drink" and he sorta straightened up and calmed down and went "alright. Lets go get me a new drink" and avoiding that fight cost 7$.
11:00 Ranton is too zen, he's too "ok, all good, this is what's going on all good". Which makes sense with his background. I bet in a real scenario, he'd be able to disarm most real attackers with his attitude and charm.
I'm really enjoying rewatching these through your reactions. Now if only we could get Icy Mike to do this too. Its much easier than getting your wife to tear gas you for content.
