    There are some recent studies that explain the neural stress and neural fatigue fenomenom aand how to train specificifically neural adaptations and neural fatigue. This video is amazing, good points about plyo.By the way a easy way to find the fatigue is to measure the kg that you move at 1m/s or measure the jump heigh in squat jump without countermovement(with app or something more expensive haha) and compare it between sessions.That thing about russians killed me hahaha they was really hardcore with their plyo methods. Long time i didn't watch your videos, I should do it more often

    I noticed you putting out more videos about the neural part as it was always what you preached as the most important part. Thank you for the video and if you could do one on the circadian rhythm.

    Do you recommend depth jumps be done onto a box to give a sort of "goal height" to shoot for? Or just the initial drop followed by a maximum vertical leap? I notice when I use a box my ground contact time tends to be a bit longer as I have a tendency to want to load-up more...does this defeat the purpose?

    • @Fern-wn1td
      @Fern-wn1td 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yea I've kinda wondered this too. I wonder if im just not good enough at the jump or if its ok to have the contact time be a bit longer.

    • @cameron9878
      @cameron9878 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally I use a box as a "goal height" when I'm training for explosive plyo, but I don't use one when practicing depth jumps. With explosive plyo obviously loading up isn't such a bad thing, but when training for reactive plyo I really focus on getting off the floor as fast as possible.

    I feel like it’s impossible to gain. I play rugby and between heavy lifting, cardio/conditioning and plyo & speed work as well as general training and playing games, my legs and body can’t take it. I just get too fatigued. My legs feel constantly sore.

      Listen to your body, slow down, stop lifting weights heavy during the Rugby season, ease up on the intensity & go through the motions more than all out hard training, lay around as much as possible and sleep as much as you can. Your nervous system is shot! Oh and most importantly, learn how to deal with your stress! Watch more Essop Merrick video's to reinforce what I just told you! Now go do it, fly fly!

    What anaerobic alactic conditioning types of training would a 400m sprinter be able to do and get good transfer to it?
    I've tried bike and have gotten really good actual conditioning out of it but my biomechanics go completely out the window.
    Is there a way to correct these flaws with the bike with lunges or some sort of heavy running pattern like movement after you completed the session?
    Interested in your thoughts on this keep up the great content.

    Can you give us your two cents on whether we should train barefoot when sprinting instead of using regular running shoes when not using spikes?

  • @coolbian513

    Can you answer this question for me? How come I feel so tired after doing a short sprint very intensely at my maximum. I train soccer everyday usually, So i am pretty fit, I can run 10k in about 50 minutes, But I just get so tired like I cant breathe after a very intense short sprint, I dont know why? Do i need to to some tabata sessions, or whut - ALso, I can sprint at like 75-80 percent without getting so tired, but I feel like my sprint is not fast enough if i run at 75-80 percent.

    Plyo splits, man. Just like every other kind of workout split. Try to base it on "optimal" recovery time. Probably some initial and periodic trial and error.
    Also, I cringe so bad every time I see these amateurs jumping off roofs.
