    And we are off! Holding my body low while taking the first few powerful steps, hitting just a bit behind my point of gravity. While having no fear of falling i`m propelling my self forward.
    Keeping my shoulders low and using the torque to give me the edge. You know i have been sleeping well and having a comedy look on life, so lord knows i`m stress free for the proper neural recovery ANDDD no one is stopping these bad boys from sliding on tartan.
    The rhythm is almost perfect and moment of ground contact is short ( we did not do those uphill - downhill , reactive plyo drills for nothing). Engaging the psoas and sartorius for 1 additional 1km/h, raising my body the head is high, staying tall while reaching top speed trying to relax. BOOM leaning upfront to cheat away some time *click hand measured. Look at the watch, clocked 0,05 faster then PB..... Think that made my day..? It made my whole month.

    Encouraged me on my squat journey, heading for 315 for 5 ATG from 185 for 1 in September. I reached 285 for 5 a couple weeks ago but found that I had begun to squat higher and higher as I went up in weight. I still squatted to parallel, but it was higher than when I'd started and decided I needed to fix my form and go even deeper than before if I wanted to continue increasing the weight.

    Essop - considering your opinion on weightlifting (in that it's not necessarily beneficial unless done with absolutely the correct intent - as described in the clean video and a lot of others), how do you recommend finding your limiting factor in order to make training more efficient and applicable to sprints? Love the videos by the way.

    sprinters are by far the worst when it comes to range of motion. infect the more range of motion you have the worse you are at sprinting. you don't need range of motion to be great sprinter.

    • @InternalMusings
      @InternalMusings 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, this doesn't make any sense to me. How is range of motion hurting sprinters?

    Hey I’m 15 and I only started athletics last season and ran 13.56 in 100m. I joined late in the season. I’ve kinda stopped over the winter. I don’t excel in the start or ending of the race and I’ll have almost all summer off because I won’t compete. Should I just sprint more often like 60s and 100s instead of doing loads of complicated stuff like sled pulls and plyos and stuff?

    • @BreuckelensFinest
      @BreuckelensFinest 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Colm hEartáin Study more of Essops videos & definitely research the sprint coach Loren Seagrave of IMG Academy. Study him over and over again, he talks about "leg pop" or "popping the thigh". Sprinting is a 'skill' that almost anyone can develop. Also sprinting has more to do with foot strike power vertically & directly striking your for under your hip to explode & propel your body horizontally across the track, than anything. But & that's a big BUT, it can not be efficiently executed without that correct "thigh pop" first, to set up your foot strike up appropriately so that you can be explosive. Definitely watch all of Essops & Loren Seagrave video's & definitely practice little by little, slowly, plyometric training to stimulate your nervous system, resistance training (sleds for pulling & pushing) to get you use to that stimulus, so when you actually sprint, it will make you feel much lighter & easier bc you're stronger, weights but done lightly & for body balance with your muscles, & definitely do your drills as efficiently as possible & absolutely sprint. But I'd start with block work first, to work on your first step to bring you to your 2nd step, 3rd step, etc. I would start to master your first 10 meters & then your next 15-20 meters, & on and on until you've mastered the whole 100 meters. Just like Essop says, the Charlie Francis way is probably the best way, from short to long & develop your skill, conditioning, abilities, bodies muscle balances, strengthening your nervous system etc. Little by little, one step at a time. As you keep developing everyday, you'll run more efficiently, easily with less effort & your sprint much faster. Who knows, if you stay at it, you will break the world record of 9.58. I'm not joking either. No one really knows what they are capable of unless they give it their best efforts with the best information for them. But this takes tremendous effort & all that you have. And don't forget to sleep, rest & eat well for fuel. Recharge your nervous system. God Speed. Keep me posted on how you're developing. Good luck.
