I agree about the Model 2 FC pen - it's my favourite FC model. I'm so jealous of your Monoc purchase. I've been stalking the Schon website to see when they'll re-release some of the other colours in the polished custom Monoc nibs - if they don't I'll buy the blue one. As usual I enjoy your content.
Kristen, very nice haul from the pen show! I was there too. Your Scribo Feel is gorgeous...the colors and finishes of the Feel are incredible, aren't they? I have one also. Your Omas, another incredible pen and finish. I really liked the Schon too with that incredible nib. I had some nib work from Matthew Chen, who was right next to Mike M., and he was excellent as well. You have an eclectic taste, and I understand that completely because I do too. Great show and have fun with your new goodies!

All of those pens are so GORGEOUS and grail worthy 😍 😍😍 I have never been to a pen show, I am afraid of the damage that would do to my wallet. 😂😂😂 I have to see if I can plan a trip to the US to coincide with a pen show next year. I got a imperial grind by Kirk on a twsbi and that pen shows so great shading capabilities. Now I got two shows for next year: Baltimore, SF and D.C., that's 3, oh well, no new car next year.
LOL! Custom grinds, at least the ones done in person, are the best way to ensure you get exactly what you want. I’m impressed, and a bit spoiled at this point 😆
You should! If you get a chance to visit a pen show, many nib grinders (and even some companies like Franklin-Christoph and SCHON DSGN) will have test pens for you to experience before you make a commitment on one of your own pens. If that’s not possible, I do recommend watching as many TH-cam videos and reading blogs/articles that describe how certain grinds look and feel. Fair warning: such an exploration can lead you down a rabbit hole! 😆

You definitely don't have to spend this much (or buy anything at all) at a pen show, but I highly recommend preparing with a budget or detailed checklist so you won't get blindsided by the end of the show.
I’ve only recently become aware of Primary Manipulation 1 and 4 FPs and I’ve fallen in love with Jonathan Brooks’ gorgeous resin. But I’m reluctant to buy one of those pens without knowing the size (I have small hands). Can you give me an approximate size comparison with your Pelikan M400 or perhaps an Aurora Optima? Those pens fit my hand nicely and I’m hoping your PM1 pen is a similar size. I’ve loved your 2023 SF Pen Show debriefings. I sadly had to miss this year’s show because we were moving. Thanks!
I show my Aurora 88 next to all of my Leonardo pens (including the PM1) in my unboxing video for the Leonardo MZ Nuvola. Both the Aurora 88 and the Pelikan M400 are smaller than all of my Leonardo pens. I hope this helps!

The first time I went to a pen show I brought cash, and that was my budget and I only let myself use that. Made it "safer" for me. Hahah
