Oh my goodness, that Tree of Life pen is so different and gorgeous and what a generous seller/artist to include those extras for you :) Ooooh I do love a matte finish on a pen, feels so lovely in the hand. You picked absolutely gorgeous pens, the Teal Urushi is stunning and then next 'grafitti' urushi pen beautiful! Being over here in Australia, I have been living vicariously through everyone else's videos who attended the show :)

It sounds like you had an eventful show! Thanks for sharing with us and allowing us to live vicariously through you. I have only been to one pen show, last year’s Ohio Pen Show. It’s about a three-hour drive for me so it’s not too bad. I was overwhelmed with it so I can’t image what the larger shows like DC and San Francisco would be like.

Your videos throughout the year have helped me decide on various purchases and I have been living through your SF pen show coverage last year as well as this one, since I was unable to attend it. You got some great pens and those grinds, oh my! I’m sorry that your Pelikan nib wasn’t good out of the box, mine F nib is just mesmerizing and soft, but you got a great nib work done on it and I can’t wait to see it at work. I love your Libra pen, too and am eagerly awaiting to see it together with the Pilot in writing. ❤😊

I am just getting started in learning about fountain pens by listening and watching videos from Goulet Pens, Jet Pens and other channels and that is how I found you ☺ - something that I noticed about your vlog is that all these "brands" that you bought pens from I have never heard from, I am only familiar with the most common - Pilot, Twisbi, Benu, etc . . . and this is one of the reasons that I want to go to a pen show to learn more from other vendors. As soon as you said Vanness, I stopped the video and headed over there to see if they had extras left from the show. They did. Ordered. 😊 I'm going to end up with a Sinclair case *wardrobe* for my pens. I already had a couple of the original Nock Co. Sinclair cases, and now I have several Sinclair-R models made by Rickshaw. *smh*

I am auto drawn to anything along those themes, before anything else. Gorgeoussss. And the Mayfair pen - I have been stalking his site. I absolutely adore the resins & the shapes of the pens - so pretty 💜🤍🖤 I also love the green/brown/pink resin pen with sparkles!! And the peach peacock resin 😶 oh I have wanted an Arabian Nights pen 🩷 A lot of our tastes are very similar x

Everything is so beautiful - the 100 pen case, the tree of life pen (and stand, omg), the Mayfair pen, the Magna Carta pen is BEAUTIFUL - the Skogsy you have is one of the best I've seen from them... (I'm just gonna stop because basically your taste level on everything is magnificent) - also told feel you on cash. At Stationery Fest, I was trying to get rid of cash so quick that it probably went against the reason to have cash 😝 .. also, you just seem like the nicest person ever. hope to hang next year!!
Loved this! Your pen purchases were awesome. I am going to start saving for an Urushi. I went to the St. Louis Pen Show in late June. It is fairly small compared to SF. But I had a wonderful time. I had two pens ground by Matthew Chein. (Hope I spelled that correctly.) I love the grinds. I spent time w a very kind vendor if vintage pens and bought a vintage Esterbrook. Can’t wait till next June. Thanks for a lovely video recap.

And I loveeeee the resin of that Skogsy pen!! I need it in my life 😍😍😍 I went to the StL Pen show and it was fun! It was my first pen show so I certainly do not have any tips lol I’m learning by watching all of these pen show videos! But for my first show I did walked away with my first Sailor pen and my first Traveler’s notebook 😁 I also tried some of Kirk Speer’s nib grinds but I’m indecisive so I didn’t get any of my pens ground 😅 I’m hoping to go to the Dallas and the Ohio pen shows this year too !
Thanks for watching! It’s great that you were able to attend your first pen show! FYI: Kirk Speer and some other nib techs have tester pens that you can try out at the show. You can test their grinds that way, even before you decide what you want. I changed the plan for one of my pens right on the spot at this year’s show, because I tested a grind that I liked much more. I hope you enjoy the other pen shows as well!

I worry the venue is just way to small for its growing popularity.. I wonder if they'd consider finding a hotel with larger ballrooms or more meeting rooms.. Or maybe consider pre-selling General Admission as well so they can cap attendance so it's a comfy experience for all buyers. Love your haul btw! That London Pen Co pens is gorgeous!! An Esterbrook mini stub is on my future buy list as well.

Okay. Now I was a CSI grind. What one do I choose? 😂 I’ve never been to a show before but I’m going to The Dallas Pen Show at the end of September. I’m not finding much info yet or any sign ups for nib grinding or classes yet either. I’ll be stalking the website I guess! I have some wish list items or wish to try items… (Pelikan, Franklin Christoph, Leonardo) but I am excited to see some maker pens. I love the pen you got with the Brooks resin. It is beautiful! 34:12 so someone, Pamela? said that the click noise is deliberate so you can position your cap and the pattern of the pen will line up perfectly. They also mentioned to watch a Goulet (again?) video where it's explained in more detail.
Also: I would totally move back to the Bay Area just to hang out with you more often. Watching this is amazing and a little melancholic at the same time because it would be so much better in person. Alas, I was able to at least talk these pens with you in person.

So true! I think I may need a reminder or alarm on my phone to let me know when it’s time for a lunch break - well before I experience a dip in energy.

Okay. Now I was a CSI grind. What one do I choose? 😂 I’ve never been to a show before but I’m going to The Dallas Pen Show at the end of September. I’m not finding much info yet or any sign ups for nib grinding or classes yet either. I’ll be stalking the website I guess! I have some wish list items or wish to try items… (Pelikan, Franklin Christoph, Leonardo) but I am excited to see some maker pens. I love the pen you got with the Brooks resin. It is beautiful! Congrats on your haul! Can’t wait to see videos with your new stuff in it!
You picked up some great looking pens. I usually like vintage pens, but I will look at some of those small vendor pen makers.

3:44 I had the same anxiety getting to my nib appointment last year. It was nerve wrecking.
I might go for a 60 pen box next year. Maybe. Possibly.
34:12 so someone, Pamela? said that the click noise is deliberate so you can position your cap and the pattern of the pen will line up perfectly. They also mentioned to watch a Goulet (again?) video where it's explained in more detail.
36:10 I think it's purple and not black.
Also: I would totally move back to the Bay Area just to hang out with you more often. Watching this is amazing and a little melancholic at the same time because it would be so much better in person. Alas, I was able to at least talk these pens with you in person.
I will see if I can find a video about it. If you find one, please let me know, I’d love to watch it. I really hope that’s all that is happening. It just sounds like the nib is literally scraping against one area in the cap’s interior.
