Ben Simmons had a free path to the NBA because of talent and it took years for him to finally put in the work and learn how to shoot. NBA is a tall mans game, and shorter players must work twice as hard.

His speed is not common for his height, he clocked in the fastest time at 19.4 mph in a basketball court which is insane when you realize the amount of space he would be limited to at full sprint. His basketball IQ is also elite, his one weakness is and will continue to be his shooting beyond 5 ft.

Thierry Roland but Giannis is willing to improve and take shots. Ben is not. That’s the flaw, it’s not that he can’t shoot it’s the unwillingness to improve on his jump shooting. You can’t tell me that Giannis is the worst shooter, not a great shooter by any means but at least he makes an effort to get better at it. We’ve seen improvement every year with Giannis and nothing from Ben.

I found out over the many years of watching basketball & playing it myself that alot of guys look good in street type ball but in a NBA setting with players that are equal or better it's more crucial to have a half court game & Ben Simmons like many NBA greats have the tools but need to put in the work & develop many go to post moves & mid range shots

Simmons looks A LOT LEANER! He looks even quicker and more explosive, and looks like his vertical has improved as well (because he's carrying less muscle).... which is pretty scary for the rest of the league. 2018-19 All-Star for sure. Probably should have made it over Dragic last season, but they won't be able to stop him this season. Hyped to watch him become one of the best players in the league this season. He's already ELITE in every other facet of the game, so he just needs is to get the confidence in his jumper back and it's over.
I say "get the confidence in his jumper BACK", because I watched him (in Australia) when he was 13-16 years old and he made at least a couple of threes per game. I genuinely think the crazy amount of muscle he put on as a teenager might have affected his shot. Looks a bit more confident here, albeit in a small sample size.
I predict 18.5pts 8reb and 9asst per game. Happy to hear all about it from Mitchell fanboys if it doesn't happen. Also Mitchell is fucking good. Just pisses me off to see people say Mitchell deserved ROY. He was amazing... just came up against one of the best rookie seasons IN NBA HISTORY.

The thing most American NBA fans don't realise is- I've watched Ben Simmons since he was a 13 year old (in Australia) and he hit at least a couple of threes per game when he was 13-16 years old. Just needs to get the confidence back. To be honest though, his form looked BETTER when he was like 14. He seems to shoot on the way down a bit too much these days. I've got faith in him though. He's such a confident human being that he'll find a way to get his jumper to fall. Just might take him a few seasons to get consistent.
