Loved it! As a 10x IM finisher - but with only a 360kg total myself, I can dig the whole project and I think you killed it! I can relate to upchucking on the run too. LOL Flat coke, P-bar and banana is my go-to for the last 10k also. First rate effort, Fergus. Well done!
It’s mad that people downplay stuff like this - leaves me feeling sorry for them that they have so many problems they can’t feel happy for someone else’s success. Amazing work 🤩
A trick of the algorithm kicked me your way just recently... I'm super inspired by this because it's exactly how I like to train. I want to get ultra endurance shit done without sacrificing my strong lifts. Instant sub my guy! Keep kicking ass.
Such a beast! Love the effort and the honesty. I also appreciate hearing the self harm openness, I find if I don't train hard that darkness creeps up and pulls me under without much notice. Hearing that others have experience of it takes a bit of the shame away.
That's a mental achievement mate, would love to start including endurance with my strength training, didn't know it was possible to be great at both without special help.
Honestly, you're probably the only person in the world to achieve something like this - it's incredible! As someone who found fitness after a suicide attempt, seeing someone like you absolutely crush these challenges is truly inspirational. Thank you for doing what you do!
Hi Fergus, wish I saw this video sooner. Just completed my first ironman distance triathlon a few weeks ago and plan to do an ironman in the coming year. Currently on a powerlifting programme and have been powerlifting for many years now. Brilliant video, nearly has me signing up for a triathlon now
Congratulations!!! I totally appreciate your accomplishment … I used to lift 6x/week and was pretty strong, but then I got into triathlon. I’ve done 8 Ironman races. Anyway, the point I’m making is that I’ve had to let the strength training go. I still lift occasionally but I’m nowhere near as strong. The two are simply not compatible. What you did is thoroughly impressive … Ironman endurance training while maintaining impressive strength. Great accomplishment and great video💪🏻
Amazing video, excellent effort Fergus. Probably the 10th time I've watched this amongst many of your other videos. You're not only inspiring to myself but my young son now also wants to start doing this stuff with me when he is old enough. Thank you. Looking forward to all future content.
Absolutely mad, and having people on the internet try and tear you down is a good thing! Means they feel challenged personally. I say again, the most criminally underrated channel on Yotubube!
First time coming across this channel is watching this video all I got to say is WOW. don’t let people tell you this isn’t an extremely elite fit of strength. Absolutely inspirational man!
I think I’ve become your biggest fan 🤣. A friend told me about you only a week ago and since then I’ve binged watched you 🤣🤦♂️. I’ve not long took the jump into strength and endurance training over the last 18 months. You’re hugely inspiring to watch dude
Huge respect to you Fergus. Coming from someone who has competed in both powerlifting comps and having run a marathon (at different stages in my life) I can’t even imagine to believe how tough that was for you. I’m so pleased you’ve managed to turn those inner demons into a strength. Your a true inspiration.
I subscribed after your challenge 12 months ago and have enjoyed your content since then. Fantastic achievement, you’re a genuine inspiration and very humble with it.
Well done! Amazing achievement! I've been struggling to choose between continuing with strength training or transitioning to tri. I haven't felt like i wanted to leave strength as i enjoy it so much but i'm getting older and have always wanted to complete triathlons to a good standard but didn't feel like this would be possible without committing solely to tri. You've shown and inspired me that doing both is possible! :)
@@ferguscrawley95 hi Fergus. Would I be possible for me to complete an ironman by next April?? Im 33, male, I've been training since 17/18,done a few marathons. Didn't find the marathons too hard, just because I've that endurance mentality. But I know the ironman is a different beast. Is it possible to do by next april??
Brilliant effort mate, I gave up smoking in January at age of 30 having smoked for 16 years, started running, up to 50/60km a week now, signed up for my first ultra(50km) next May and watching your videos and taking bits of information from yourself is a big help, very inspiring
This is mental! Big props the mental strength to get through that is crazy and elite! Love the stuff you do with strength and endurance! Keep it up dude can’t wait to see what you do next 💪
Flat Coke will ALWAYS help. That course looks awesome. That transition is pretty long, but come to the US. I have had a transition that was just under a mile long between swim and bike.
Just watched this and well done. Always interesting to watch others having a go and pushing themselves just for the fun of it. Different circumstances of course (and much less pimpy kit) but you have recently inspired me to go a little further like a 25km run without specific training (worse after than during) and a 5k PB at the track. Maybe another DIY half IM but our local pool is shut dammit! Plus et en vous que vous pense!

Incredible mate 👍🏻 and was great to get the run in at the LC the day before with you. Thinking of attempting a car pall for Movember in Liverpool… fancy it? 😆
Yo fergus, in the near future you should challenge yourself to a high powerlifting total and bike race in the same day. You seem to excel in both of these areas, it’d be awesome to see what you can do, and push yourself towards.
Very strong performance, very inspiring! As an ex powerlifter and now duatlete i can relate. You have to do some strenght training for triatlon, but no triathlon for powerlifting. 😉 Like you say 600 kg rested and tapered in powerlifting and I think an hour faster or more in triathlon when only focused on that. Congrats!
