Abandoning ego and accepting that sometimes our bodies change the plan for us is a blessing to understand (eventually for me).
🤝
Fergus Crawley and Alan Thrall are the reason I've been pretty much running once to twice per week every week for the last few months now. Nothing crazy, just going for a 4-5 mile run next to my regular weight training and honestly, it feels refreshing and rejuvenating from a mental but also from a recovery perspective. I feel like I'm getting some blood flowing, getting warm and moving, having a nice change of pace, you are out in nature, seeing stuff, nice group activity to run with friends, and getting the head clear and as someone who absolutely dreads running on a treadmill (super boring), I think it works quite well for me.
Awesome to hear!
Train untamed!!!
did u just jump to running 5miles straight away or u worked up to it?
@@io-rj6sk just came in for a tiny jog and then over time slowly started to jog longer distances
@@io-rj6sk if you can run 1km without getting too winded at a steady zone 2 pace, you're more than capable of running 5 miles, your legs may hurt a little because they're not used to it but you'll be surprised at what you can achieve :)

Thanks for watching!
Only just stumbled across your channel but love the content! I am embarking on a similar (albeit much smaller) journey having also got a bit bored of powerlifting, and after doing my first Hyrox last year it opened my eyes to hybrid training too. I've now made the switch to CrossFit and I'm loving this new way of training!
Your efforts into making this video look perfect 🤩🤩🤩

Fergus! Once again you’ve inspired me. I’ve just purchased the OMNIA PERFORMANCE strength and Olympic Training plan. Time to transition from my know specific training program and work towards specifics and smashing my first Olympic Tri in August!!! Thanks for the content 💪🏼

Amazing work
Such good advice, thank you.
I’m currently pivoting from running to cycling on my trainer because I have a cast on my foot. The idea of competing in various disciplines is what keeps me going. This summer I have committed to a Sky race (mountain running), a 100k gravel race and a Spartan beast with over 2000 meters of vert. I’m 62 by the way and loving life!
Thanks for the story it's really amazing how much more the body is capable of! Okay I'm now an aspirational hybrid amateur! Keep making great videos!

In the last couple of years i've come from being picked up by the ambulance with chest pains after moving three boxes downstairs to... being strong-ish and starting to be able to run again. My goals are not objective but to self-identify as a lifter and as a runner (being a hybrid athlete i guess), and my metric isn't volume or intensity, but rather consistency over time. Overcoming daily friction, changing identity.
The way to go. With running and training mma to stay consistent I changed thinking: ‚i run and train mma‘ to ‚i am a runner and fighter‘ totally helped
Stunning 😍
