Great job hun. Couple suggestions, have a rubbish bin in your room, no lid so you can chuck stuff in easily and maybe a plastic container for dishes so even on your worse days it all goes into one spot instead of staying on your bed. Then once you feel that works maybe start making sure dishes are put in the kitchen. Don't try to make bog changes just implement small things so you feel like you're getting somewhere. You've got this x

Not an expert but someone diagnosed with ADHD as an adult: I never see anything unless it’s changed. I had to teach myself certain habits or else I would be in constant chaos. Not seeing the mess is so relatable!

Of all the videos I've watched, I was actually relieved to see someone with a room so similar to mine. It makes me feel like I'm not alone. I keep telling myself I'm going to clean the whole thing for real this time. My entire life, my biggest life problem has been my room. Something that would sound so ridiculous to someone else. Sometimes I'll start but I never finish. I'll either get tired or just won't know where to put certain things and give up. These videos seriously inspire me and I'm gonna try to tackle this room before the week begins. Thank you for sharing this... Seriously. If you have any advice please lmk 😭 I just want a workout space and not have to climb to get to the window. Keep being amazing!

I really wish I had some advice to give you. The only thing I can say is take it one day at a time and don't beat yourself up for your struggles. I'm not speaking from experience in that one unfortunately, but maybe just set a small goal like clean your bed off or clean all the food trash out. Then take a break for a few days and then see what else you can do so you don't get overwhelmed or burnt out. But I get it and I agree it's nice knowing others deal with the same problems. It doesn't take away the stress or sadness but for a moment at least we can talk about it without feeling shame because at least we understand. Thanks for all the support and I hope this helped even just a little. It's just gonna take time and work but we will get there eventually :)

I think any amount of cleaning is progress. You don't have to do your whole room in one go. If you have adhd you have to create little challenges like you do x amount of work or you have to do clean your room for 10 minutes(set a timer) and then you get a treat. If you struggle to start just focus on one area like your nightstand or one shelf or your bed. Every day another little area. If you have depression don't beat yourself up about it. As long as you keep trying it is progress. And you are allowed to have bad days and weeks.

My gosh I’m going through some of the same things. I’ve been on meds and counseling. And I still have major manic attacks. I maxed out my CC for BS. And I can’t return it or I spiral even more.

Thank you for sharing. I have been struggling with the same issue. I have been moving boxes and containers full of things for years. The frugal part of me makes it so hard to get rid of things because I always think that I will have a need for them and don’t want to purchase again. #growinguppoor But I have finally come to that place where I feel ready to eat this elephant one bite at a time to clear my environment. I believe that less is more and it’s actually detrimental to my mental health to crowd my space with past energy. I need clarity asap. Let’s do this. Btw I love your screen name. ❤ from Houston, TX.

Look into Executive Function problems. Many people have this without being a hoarder. It's a problem with how to initiate activity. People with ADHD can have it,but you can also have it without the ADHD. There are techniques and work arounds that can be learned to spur the initiation of tasks. In any case,I wish you well.

Agree. This is mostly garbage. There is a big difference in cleaning up your garbage and being a hoarder.

Life changes constanly. Something we have to accept. However there is someone who never changes and His promises are true. Jesus Christ is my healer and He loves you! Trust Him!
