    I've built my own controls for VR.
    It takes half an afternoon to change airplane configuration.
    At the moment, I have a Grob 115. Right hand seat.
    All hand manipulated knobs are in the correct position for me to reach out according to what I see in VR.
    It was handy having a BSc Mech Eng, and being a woodwork hobbyist.
    Trust me, as long as the controls are where they should be, immersion is maintained.
    The REAL trick is to put a small haptic shaker on the yoke. The shaker is driven by the second channel of the stereo amplifier driving the bass shaker on my chair.
    What the small shaker does on the yoke is eliminate sticky points in the yokes travel. The yoke's shaft literally 'floats' in the vibration.

    • @Pe11ePD
      @Pe11ePD วันที่ผ่านมา

      I wanted to do that on my Honeycomb Alpha, but I was afraid that the intense and non-stop vibration would ruin the internals of the yoke. There is nothing in this world that is surviving vibrations.

      I have tried MSFS 2024 with Virtual Desktop and it runs like total garbage. Im running a 4080 Super. Link cable works great. I dont understand how everyone gets 40fps in Virtual Desktop. Even the mouse moving across the screen is choppy in VD.

    Thanks for the video. I understand why you did things as you did, and I don't mean to sound churlish, but this overlay/ passthrough thing only becomes useful when the real controls overlay the position of the virtual controls exactly. I appreciate this would've been very tricky, but I really would have found it useful to see you try to get as close to it as you could... perhaps in another video?

      As he said, he intentionally offset the virtual and real controls to show us how they match up. He also mentioned that the real controls can be placed where the virtual controls would be for increased immersion.

    I have a turtle beach yoke system. I also have the joystick system. When I play with this joytick on FS2024 my flights are smooth and awesome. When I play with the Yoke system I bounce all over the place and can't keep the planes steady. Does anyone know why that is?? I haven't tried the Yoke on XBOX this is all PC. I have a i912900k 96GB mem DDR5 4800 with a 4080 OC. I can't figure it out for the life me.

    The weird thing I have with virtual desktop and MSFS is Steam VR still fires up and it caused it for me to be looking at the dual screens shown on the desktop VS a "virtual" view, I hope that makes sence. Is there somethign I need to setup to go into VR mode while using Virtual desktop or is it supposed to be automatic?

    • @lesneilson67
      @lesneilson67 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In virtual desktop use VDXR instead of Steam VR. Then the default way to enter the 3D cockpit is with CTRL-TAB. I may be skipping something as I'm not at my pc right now
