They manufacturer was limited to 8'6" wide for highway transport...which is not ideal when off road..incline/cravass areas...
It's definitely a challenge dealing with those limitations.
The tracked electric machine for Antarctica ? Keeping burning fuel off the frozen poles whichever one it is. Makes for sensible access to a region that can remain as it should. With less faecal matter and filthy carbon deposit than any other place. While I feel we should just stay out of the poles that's never going to be the human way. So a soft approach to access is considerate.
Для понимания - электро-повозки для регионов с экстремально низкими температурами абсолютно не пригодны. В силу особенностей работы аккумуляторов, а так же поведения смазочных материалов, несмотря на то, что существуют специальные арктичечкие смазки. Так что, нужна постоянная генерация тепла в транспортном средстве, а надёжнее химической реакции горения нет ничего.
Второе, что нужно понимать - современные двигатели, даже дизели для грузовых автомобилей, уже настолько экологически чистые, что тормозные колодки и покрышки колёс загрязняют природу в разы больше, чем современный дизельный ДВС в арктическом исполнении. Такие дела, друг. Читай правильную и проверенную литературу, а не статейки экологических фашистов, именующих себя эко-активистами.
