Had same 1 same year had the kick start fitted to it remember the region (AYM 139t) had cylinder gasket go generater go gear selector go right nightmare 😁
Were you riding with the choke lever fully out, this could explain the excessive smoke coming from the exhausts. If not, then either a cold day, or something seriously wrong with the engine.
+Gary Dunn I was wondering about a comment like that. What you see from the exhaust is water vapour because it is either a cold day or the motorcycle hasn't been used for a while. I know because I have been riding and restoring motorcycles for 20 years.
+1100HondaCB I have owned three of these old Honda's back in the late70's to early 80's. None of them smoked like that, except on a very coldday, and even then, not to the extent that this machine appears to be.
I had one of these back in 1979. It was in red and I fitted a colour matched "Invader" fairing to it, and it looked really smart. I even bought a red and blue Honda paddock jacket. The bike you have here appears to be in good condition for its age. Was this video shot on a cold day? I was a little concerned to see so much smoke coming from the exhausts, which could indicate worn ring or valve guides. These engines need regular servicing to keep them running sweet. I changed the oil and filter every 1000 miles. And, the cam chain, and engine counter balancer chain needs adjusting every so often, otherwise these engines become very noisy. I have owned three, the Dream, Superdream, and US Custom version, which had an aweful riding position. Otherwise these are great bikes. The 400 version is the best, if you can find one.
Ow wow....CLB885T...loved my little Superdream.
shes a beaut

I had a blue Superdream with a matching blue Invader fairing. Did 30k over 3 years as a student in early 80s.
It could be due to the petroleum fuel Ron?
very tidy
