Moreton Cutting Junction (Didcot) on 14th May 1991
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Moreton Cutting just East of Didcot Station taken on 14/05/1991. I spent around 4 hours (06.00 - 10.00) at this busy location on the GW route. The video is unedited due to it's busy content. Many cross country and local Oxford/Paddington services were witnessed in the hands of class 47s. HSTs were on the London/Bristol and S Wales routes and class 60s were appearing more frequently. Notice the smoking Didcot Power Station in the distance, now gone into the annuls of history. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Very good as always. Thanks for sharing. Bought back some memories. I particularly liked the 47 and mk 2 and mk3 and mk3 sleeper and BG. Very odd consist.

Fantastic as ever. I think I remember there being buildings on the siding site / a goods building of some sort. All demolished before this though.

Interesting use of the lines they are more like roads , as in both sides have an up and a down where as today it would one side up one side down if that makes sense

Most likely at the beginning of that year, unless one or two sneaked onto the odd service but no 50s arrived on Reading shed after that.....Thanks Duncan as always....Mark

Booked Class 50's were taken off service from Old Oak in July 1990, I was at Reading Feb 1991 I saw 50030 Repulse going to Old Oak Common for work attention, but there was a Westbury working with Ajax in May Loco went light to Salisbury, then there was D400 which worked up from Exeter one morning in 1991 and worked back is all that I know of. also that year Ajax worked to Penzance later in the year out and back.
