What is your typical battery life on the Ultra Watch? Do you charge it every day? Every two days? Never?!
I do a top off charge every couple of days. I sleep track and run avidly.
I literally have no idea. I just charge it whenever my wrist needs a “naked” break and don’t pick it up until my phone tells me it’s charged. Every 1-3 days! Usually I still have about 20% on it when I start.
It’s amazing, and the watch is super durable. It’s truly the smart watch I’ve wanted since the original Apple Watch was reviewed
I charge every other day and rarely get below 10%. That said, I'm not often far from wifi and my iPhone so I'm sure that saves on my battery.

With 2 workouts, notifications, apple pay, etc., i was able to get mine to last 50+ hours on one charge

Agree. High quality work by all of you! Thanks! The joke is on Apple, though. They could have just slapped the longer battery on a S8 watch, and many people (including me) would have bought it for $750. They could have priced this at $900+
@@ArtIrwinhow is the joke on apple lol, they still have a 45mm stainless steel at a high price, they still have the Hermes watch and now they have this. Their margins are unbeatable and they’re the biggest watch maker in the world so???

Great review! I really liked the long, in-depth format. Probably like a lot of folks, I fall into the “weekend adventurer” category, and I participate in a range of activities. It’s nice to have real world demos of the features! For a first generation product, it’s surprising decent. Can’t wait to see what gen 3 or 4 look like. These tech companies are really doing some amazing work.
Gosh, this video just ticked all the boxes. It was polished, great production values, clever and engaging narrative, and importantly informative and brave with opinions. I’ll also say this was by far, THE BEST and most in depth review of the watch I’ve seen, and I’ve seen allot of them. This is the video I’ll share with friends trying to decide if this piece is right for them. You nailed it with the overall use of the watch being more for casual athletes vs pros. Great job team. I did not want to watch a 23 minute review video. But I did it and loved it. It was less about specs and more real world experience, the kind of stuff you can't know after a week. And it's always a pleasure to spend some time hanging out with Becca, even in video form.
This is the review that's needed! So incredibly thorough testing each of the features Apple tends to frame or oversell, when in reality, it still has some areas to improve on.
I was literally banking on the waypoints and to find out that it functions like this-I think I can stick with the normal Apple Watches in the meantime. Thank you so much!!!!

Incredible review. I'm not even in the market for this (I have a Series 4 and will eventually upgrade to a newer regular Apple Watch and not an Ultra) and I was STILL absolutely fascinated by it. Beautiful shooting, crisp editing, fun from beginning to end.

This was a wonderful review. I picked one up a few days ago because I wanted something that would capture good gps data for long walks and hikes. The screen is great and the battery life is pretty killer.

Awesome review. I can't wait to see where Apple takes the Ultra. Personally, I'm waiting on integrated offline maps before I pick one up. An ambient temperature sensor would be nice too... Not sure if the new sensor can do that but it doesn't seem like it.

If backpacking use a whistle until you physically can’t use it anymore. Then activate the watch siren.

Best product review I have seen in the last few years.
I was amazed to see a 23-minute smartwatch review but it was well-organised and deserved.
The Verge is contributing to apple's testing and I hope Apple Engineers are taking note of this. I will not be surprised if some of the issues mentioned are resolved in the next Apple watch, but apple should give credit to such creators.
We appreciate the efforts you all put into creating such content.

I wish I could give this video 1000 likes! Thank you so much for making the review I’ve been looking for. Every other review I’ve found in youtube have been made by people who don’t even go out and put to the test the things that the watch was made for. Some of them even said things like “no runner, climber, or diver is going to use this anyway” which I think is not true at all! It was super frustrating to hear them make opinions without even going on a jog, hike, or a dive with the watch!
But you guys actually did it. And I cannot even imagine how much effort was put into making this video. So I just want to say thank you because this was very well planned, organized, and all the reviews were very well spoken. Awesome video!

THE definitive Apple Watch Ultra review. Yes I've seen other more in-depth reviews focusing on a specific sport or aspect of the watch, in particular marathon training & ultra running, but the sheer breadth of this review blows them away. Plus this is the 1st time I've seen the Ultra run through a REAL battery of scuba testing. Impressive work. Y'all at the Verge should be proud of this review. I'd like to see more stuff along these lines. Rushing to publish 1st is overrated if the info being delivered is mediocre or simply surface level..
