Great video I hope you see this comment I just purchased a 2014 gs 350 with about 130k miles and no idea if previous owners did maintenance on transmission should I do drain and fill or do filter as well thank you in advance
I did mines also but wait until 50k you car filter and gasket still good IMO.. You can get Parts from dealer. Watch this video to get an idea. th-cam.com/video/iwDHW9LdM_4/w-d-xo.html
Nikolay Todorov First time changed at 40k miles. Then I'm going to do the same. Much depends on the riding style. You can unscrew the overflow plug a little and check the color of the oil. If it's dark, you need to change it now.
If I was to do a fluid flush and refill for my 2014 gs350 with 105k on it should I just do the flush and refill or should I take the pan off and replace filter as well
The first time is best no later than 40 k miles. Transmission manufacturer Denso recommends changing the fluid every 30k if you intend to own the car for a long time.
Called local dealer, they told me it’s a sealed transmission lol. I’m glad I follow you, will be doing this soon to mine. Quick question, is that an app or obd2 reader? That helped you show the temps, Thanks!
Yea they say it's a lifetime fluid which is bullshit. No fluid is lifetime. Especially on a performance car. I use a obd 2 tool called carista and obd fusion app
I was told by my dealer that they don’t want to do it because when they flush the fluid it’s likely to stir up contaminants that will be leftover floating around in the new fluid.
So my question is.... Background unfo: I have a 14 Lexus GS350 Fsport(AWD) and I'm at 90k first time replacing A/T fuild. I bought the car used at 60k. Car was hot when draining and got out 5qts so put in 5qts but fill plug started to over flow before putting back what was out.did gear steps then Got the temp to 127°f opened overflow plug and lost about 1 1/2qt and closed cause the stream was still heavy flow....do you think it was over filled the 1st someone else did it or did I miss something???
I always work in sandals..super important! Where did you the jack stands? Run it hard...every 30,000? What if I drive long distance and drive gentle? 50,000 mile change? Thanks bro. great video.
Same thing happened to me.... I asked for both differential crush washers and crush washers plus gusket for A/T. Did my differentials first and was left with 2 washers.... ima finish watching and I have my to possibly ask....
I did notice a improvement in shifts. It's smoother shifting. Seems like it shifts faster. Down shifts are smoother. And the 4 to 5 gear rpm jump is gone that I been having in a cold car
The first time is best no later than 40 k miles. Transmission manufacturer Denso recommends changing the fluid every 30k if you intend to own the car for a long time.
These are quick jacks. Just google quick jacks. The way I check to make sure the car is level is when it’s up I get under the car and I legit take a level and put it on the transmission pan and see if it’s flat or not
Im getting the same high rpms from 4th to 5th gear when engine is cold… did this fix the problem bc my rcf is almost at 50k miles and i will being doing a trans oil change soon
your dogs is cute, nice video buddy would you recomend me changing mine at 110mi on 08 lexus gs350 trans oil never has changed ? or is it risky ? thanks for your time
@@BulletsGarage thanks for your fast respond that’s what I’ll be doing this Thursday and hopefully everything goes well, I wasn’t really sure about taking the pan down and change also the trans filter and get more dirt oil out , but I’ll be just more satisfy with drain n fill cheers mate
@@BulletsGarage also I’ll be changing the fluid from Toyota ws atf to amsoil signature full synthetic, have u had any experience With amsoil oil before ?
Hey, I have a rc200t 119k km (74k Miles). As far as I know it's the same transmission. I live in Hungary and the dealers here are really bad so I will do it myself. What's your recommendation? Should I just drain and fill for 2-3 times or should I remove the pan and change the filter too?
A easy way also is drain when cool remove level plug and fill until it starts to trickle out then replace the fluid level check bolt I also use full synthetic trans fluid a German brand that’s for Toyotas much better than WS fluid from BLALPARTS®
Hello there. I have a question my 2017 GS F transmission is acting up with 29000 miles. Still have warranty. Just wondering if your is not acting up like mine.
@@BulletsGarage from first to second in high rpms whines like if slipping, I noticed one time it neutralize for couple of second on the freeway just stuff like that acting weird. I was reading on the web and there are saying the 8 speed transmission is junk. actually they have a law suit against Toyota for that.
Please send me the link saying the transmission is junk. That is not true. The transmission is very solid. And very few if any Ppl reported issues. The wine you hear is normal and it pro not from the transmission. If anything have the dealer do a flush
@@BulletsGarage yeah you right. But since I am having some of the symptoms they mentioned there. I was concerned about it. I will change the oil in my transmission hopefully solve my problems. Thanks.
See! Wasn't doing a ATF Drain and Fill a good idea?!?! And you're not even at 30k yet and its brown when it should be red. How are your downshifts now?
I only did it thanks to your video!! So thank you man. I'm so glad I did it. Gonna do it again in 10k to get more fresh fluid in. It's so much smoother now.
@@BulletsGarage Yeah I did it cold and only 2 quarts came out then did it again with it warm and 2.7 quarts came out. I did it with like 1k miles interval apart but probably should have waited like you are otherwise it is a waste of fluid.

The WS fluid does not stay red for long, perfectly normal color.
`Great video man ! I also enjoy seeing your dogs watching you!!
Good job! Did it yesterday on my RC F. Additionally, I changed the filter and gasket.
Nice. How hard was it do to do the gasket and fiter? Where did u get the gasket and filter from?

I did it just by lifting the front part. I bought the gasket and filter online using the part number.
When do you guys drain and fill the transmission? My rcf is in storage and only has 1700 miles but I’m curious?

Hello, love your DIY videos. Any chance you have the parts numbers for those crush washer? Thanks
No I don't off hand
Thanks for the video fellow GS F brother! My car is only at 12K miles, I'll probably change it at 15K next summer.
Good plan.

Flush and drain and fill are two very different things
@@BulletsGarage I seen another video, where the guy drains the oil, then removes the straw and that drained more oil out.

Good stuff. Could have saved yourself a bit of the guessing game, tho, by using identical containers.
True I just didn't have another one
@@BulletsGarage Have a GSF. Doesn’t have identical plastic containers. Lol. You cracked me up. Hahaha
But brown doesnt mean it's broken right?
Brown means the fluid is taken a beating. And is slightly burnt. Should be nice n red color
does the 2015 rc 350 have the same transmission can i do this the same way?
were you a mechanic at one point or you just learned from friends?
No I just love cars so I like to do things on my own and learn as I go
Hi!! My 2015 rcf have only 6k miles, when should I hange transmission fluid ? Thanks for your vids.
At 20k
Thanks, i think I wilk do the full change with filter. What do you think?
Why not it's cheap and u will get more fluid out

On
Damn, I'm here wondering how my ATF is in my IS350. It's never been changed, it's got almost 130k and I beat the shit out of it always
At this point it's pro not a good idea to change it because the old fluid has been there so long. The new fluid could cause the Trans to slip

@@niktozero5944 well.. I got the car with 89k miles in like 2013. So, I guess it was way past due even when I got it.
Oh yea
Same
To do this correctly, you must let the transmission get to 40 deg c from cold
Hey did you have to replace the ATF filter? I did not see that part of video. Thanks

what is this lift you used to jack up the car? i wanna do my atf but iono how to make sure its level
