@@avlinrbdig5715 He's norwegian - but you're correct. Faen/fan (Norwegian/Swedish) is basically the same word. I'd place it somewhere between "damn" and "fuck", in terms of profanity level. I love watching the old shows and comparing how the safety and equipment has advanced over the years. Those older dudes are just lucky to have made it through the events without loss to life or limb. It's amazing.
Number 92. - Eddie winning deadlift in WSM2017 by pulling 472kg is top1 on my list. Such weight after that many events. One thing I would add to the list would be 2017 Kieliszkowski's plane pull. He was a new guy, he had little muscle, little experience and won an event which favors heavy guys, even though he was the lightest. Mindblowing.
Great list. Loz could you do a video on strongman records that are unbreakable? Mariuz winning by 20 points and Big Z claiming 8 Arnolds would have to be up there.
Mariuz's 5 titles is unlikely to be broken. The last decade has seen the sport grow a lot, and there are many more 'professional' strongmen coming up through the ranks. It's like when Tiger Woods dominated golf and inspired an entire generation of fathers and sons to train from basically birth to become pro golfers. It's so hard to win a major in golf compared to when Tiger first stepped on the scene because of what his legacy inspired. Strongman is so competitive now, and the margins between victory and 4th place are very thin. No chance anyone breaks that 20 point margin, and sustaining success at the highest level for 6 victories is going to be nearly impossible.
Tom McGee psyching himself up was epic. Also Jouko Ahola winning on his first attempt and at such a light weight compared to the others was a holy s moment.
I write to appreciate the amount of work you have done with this video (and all your videos ofc). We dont appreciate it loud enough sometimes. Many thanks for this 🙂🙏
I was surprised Martins blitzing the stones over post at the 2021 Rogue after everyone else struggled with it so hard wasn't on your list. Chloe's lift is one of the best moments on here for sure.
Watching young Savickas have a atlas stone drop on his stomach at first strongman to being one of the atlas stone champs and lift the Austrian oak. 🎉🎉🎉 Bravo 👏
Wow, what a great video, guys!! That must have taken a ton of time and research. A few takeaways...old strongman events were crazy dangerous...Chloe's lift and reaction hit me in the feels...Kaz is definitely the scariest strongman ever
Mitch Hooper is an incredible athlete, he always comes across like it's all no biggy but I saw a tear on his cheek when you had your arm around him Uncle Loz!
Jamie Reeves opening our new shop in 1990 is my best strongman memory. We had him pull a narrow boat which was comically easy for him then he stayed and armwrestled all the kids and a few over zealous adults for the rest of the day. Safe to say nobody got the better of him, although a few of the kids did come close. Everyone had a great time and he seemed like a really decent bloke.
Great list, some of my favorite moments in Strongman here, no doubt. ... And some of my least. Watching Glenn Ross cry in 2000 when he missed out of the final, and anything Stone Off related. 36 was the one I was waiting for; Pfisters prediction is by far one of my favorite moments as a fan, second only to when Phil started locking out those natural stones in 2006 and I totally knew he was actually going to make good on it. That head to head between JF Caron and Jerry Pritchett. There is no quit in either one of those guys and that's still probably my favorite moment so far from the Shaw Classic. Big Z and Mariusz were absolutely incredible in their day. Along with Brian and the consistency of Thor, they've got to be the best Strongmen ever. You got to give it up to Mitch Hooper on all of his appearances on here too. Absolutely incredible athlete, and crazy determination. A few honorable mentions. Berend Veneberg being the first guy to beat out a returning WSM Champion for his spot in WSM at Strongest Man in the Netherlands 1993. (Great competition too) Jouko Ahola, like Magnus Ver Magnusson also won WSM in his first appearance in 1997. How about Regin Vagadal in 1996? The most famous man in the Faroe Islands, winning his heat having never even seen at least most of the events in the Competition. Lazlo Fekete making the 1999 final, 9 years after he last competed at Worlds in 1990. The gap between appearances beaten only by Travis Ortmayer. (2011-2021) Also worth mentioning though everybody already knows it. Between 2009 - 2016 no one won WSM other than Zydrunas Savickas and Brian Shaw. Lastly, "Stupid Event" 🤣 Got to Give it up to Loz for defeated a peak Thor Bjornsson in the 2016 Europe's Strongest Man.
I know Thor broke the record with 501, but there was something unreal about Eddie doing 500 the first time. That era of Eddie Hall was such a monster of determination.
I understand about the importance of safety, more standardized events, etc., and that's better for the athletes, the older events are so much cooler and more fun to watch. And, man. if events were still so varied and athletic Mariusz could've won 15 years in a row or something. Crazy

Chloe is probably the most impressive pound for pound to touch the dinnies. And i will die on the hill of saying Biby didnt lock his left arm on the log wr
I grew up watching WSM competitions, so this drew me back to childhood memories. I've always admired these guys for the strength and discipline they exhibit physically, but mentally as well to train up to those weights. Just wild to think what a human is capable of during moments of adrenaline.
That Kaz train pull, every time I see it my hamstrings and glutes just fire. Always was a motivation at the gym when pulling weight behind you, never got past an SUV, but still lol

Yes! And love seeing Dr. Jan Todd, first woman to lift them, in the background behind Chloe, reacting & cheering her on! Loved it!

45 always gets me. Slapping Derek mid lift was beyond disrespectful in my opinion. Wish Poundstone won a title at least once.
I agree. He was so close too. Especially when you hear how much of an asshole the Dominator was. Would've been happier to see Poundstone get that.

Unbelievably dangerous and unsporting behavior by Kaz starting at 3:45. He almost killed his own teammate.
