  • Dr. Wati Aier is the founder of Oriental Theological Seminary. Under his leadership, the Forum for Naga Reconciliation brought together all warring Naga underground factions to peace by signing 'Covenant of Reconciliation' on 13 June, 2009. Since then, there has never been major factional bloodshed among Naga national groups.
    Now his work for Nagas focus on making the borders between Naga people fall. The FNR has initiated a movement called 'Nagas Without Borders' to bring Naga people in different Indian States and different countries together as one.

    This conversation with the 'Father of Naga Reconciliation' was long awaited. I am grateful to Mr. Lungleng for accomplishing this mission. I hope you have more of such conversation with him in the future. You might like to consider Naga mothers' concerns on the issue of Naga belongingness and unity; ma'am Rosemary and her team are inspirational.
    Many thanks to Dr. Wati. What a refreshing and reassuring voice for Nagas accross generations and boundaries. Surely we will realise this dream one day.

      It's true, "one day Nagas of Nagaland will feel alienated without the Nagas living beyond boundaries". Nagas of Nagaland should not think that they are the only Nagas and those who are in Manipur, Arunachal, Assam and Burma are fake❗
      Nagas are one ; wherever they are🧎Dr. Wati Aier loves everyone, every tribes and every Nagas equally. Let's come closer to love one another like him 💞
      The Bible says---✝ Above all, let your Love for one another be intense, because " Love covers a multitude of SINS " 💞 - 1Peter 4:8.👌🚶‍♀️

    "Younger people are not aware of history...and we cannot blame them". I wish this show would go more about why the Naga history has been through stages of transgression, and how we now have distorted and varied versions of the Naga struggle.

    Proud to be called as a Manipuri Naga, we have served this state with our hearts and blood. also the people of Manipur have received us with love and we have used the resources of Manipur too. not acknowledging this only just shows our ungratefulness towards the state.

    • @kaikhasapriina862
      @kaikhasapriina862 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nagas have no prefix manipuri before Naga. Nagas are just Nagas.
      But divided by international artificial boundaries and by Indian constitutional states.
      But all real Nagas are connected by one aspiration for the strong Naga Nation where all Nagas live with dignity and integrity.

    • @archangelmichael8209

      @@kaikhasapriina862 sorry but manipuri nagas are a lot different than mainland nagas . I hate the term too , but to be honest it was the British that first introduced the word "naga" . Before that we were all individual tribe communities . Just like how we all have diff religions and then white Americans came and we were all introduced to Christianity.
      Also when I am in nagaland , few of the mainland nagas are racist and discriminating towards us . Many manipuri nagas don't like even being called nagas coz we are different and better . Also we have military power unlike your state. We love manipur.

    The era is of competing for survival of the fittest through technological advancement,economy revenues,extraction of resources,commercialising even farts and shits.
    as a layman’s son we too have struggled. The money parents earned for educations all goes in taxation,house tax,Yearly tax,15% deduction etc.from all different groups. and now we couldn’t compete in any sector,education,wealth,Political,Social,religious.
    The point is let’s not waste our time energy,money where it holds no water.
    Let me also say this.
    According to World power and energy Ltd. By 2060 all petroleum in earth crust will deplete and of course 10% will remain but will be impossible to extract. Now by this,India has developed Bioenergy refineries for future even Assam already have.What have we done for ourselves.
    Nothing! We don’t even have a common home pipeline gas connection like Assam which they have developed since 80’s.
    The Political and Economic future of Naga is at blunder risk with this same tribal ism politics. And with this only emotional attachment cannot save all of us. let’s stay where we are now and progress in the way we desire among others because only emotional attachment is not practical.

  • @Lulougonz
    @Lulougonz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I am a Rongmei( Zeliangrong) tribe of Manipur. I don't know, what others may say about me but I know exactly who I am. According to our oral history and folk tales and folk songs, we were descended from Mahou( Minhau in Chinese). One of our folk song speak about a famine while our forefather were in Sinluang, most probably in Yunan Province in ancient China. We have migrated from China during the rule of tyrant emperor, Tsi- Huang-Di. The last destination of our ancestors before dispersal was Makhel via Myanmar ( there are village name in Myanmar that are similar to Rongmei/Zeliangrong dialect). Thus, the Zeliangrong people moved toward south to Chagwangphungning, Ramting Kabin then finally to Makuilongdi in today's Senapati district of Manipur hills. There were no geographical boundaries between the hills from Myanmar to Manipur then according to our oral history. It is only when the Britishers came to invade our territories, there emerged self conciousness among people and eventually became separated by geographical boundaries ( attributed to the advent of British colonalization into our ancestral lands). Many administrative reforms had been made by the Britishers to suit their interests but failed in many aspects. As a result, Naga Frontier came into being( Naga Hills was separated from Assam). Thus, leaving other Naga tribes in their own fate. NNC was formed with the objective of Naga's sovereignty. Under the leadership of A.Z. Phizo, many Naga youths from Manipur joined the movement and sacrificed their lives. But today unfortunately, we are dividing ourselves as Nagaland Nagas and other Nagas. Some even think we are not the original Nagas vis-a-vis. But we know who exactly we are. Geographical boundary can politically separate us, but does not separate us historically. We have certain lineage, roots and bloodlines which can not be re- written. E,z, the Zeme, the Liangmai and the Rongmei community share common ancestry( kindred tribes) likewise, the Chakhesang, the Angamis, the Sumis, The Rengmas, the Mao/ Paomai/ Maram and the Zeliangrings belong to a lineage called, Tenyemi. Similar lineage between various Naga tribe. Therefore, it is pertinent to all Naga family irrespective of their affiliation or geographical isolation to come out of the shell and strive together for our collective identity and common goals. Let us not divide ourselves further but rather accept the reality and move forward shoulder to shoulder. Kuknalim. From Rongmei Naga( Zeliangrong), Manipur.

    The numerous Naga warlords and its military wings function like mafia gangs fighting for supremacy and territorial control. Nationhood without unity and a single Naga identity is impossible. Discard tribalism and learn to share power or Nagas will never be taken seriously by the Indian Central Government.
