    Does strengthening the multifidi help also with the bone mass of the vertebrae as we age? I know that loading the bones with strength training is important for our bones. I want to keep my bones of the spine in good shape

      I dont know that there is research to support it but the pulling of the muscles on the bones should help stimulate bone growth.

    Great video. The side stepping looks like the Palof exercise for the obliques. Can I exercise both the obliques and the multifidus with this exercise? Thanks, Toney

    Can these exercises help strengthening the multifitus muscles after a L5s1 fusion? Or are these muscle pretty much dead?

      I think they can still be strengthened. They aren't dead, just at a disadvantage at that point. You have to be specific on them but not overdo it.
