It really is a shame Cucuruz was not given a bigger role overall. He genuinely brought out the Zaku's performance to its fullest without every firing a single round in grounded combat, and would have made for an excellent instructor at the very least if the White Base were allowed a little more time with him on his island to help them polish close combat maneuvers. He was a Zeon Ace after all.

Truly the peak of 0079 animation. Honestly, this episode is the best representation of 0079 as a whole. It has weird animation with some good parts, and it is goofy at times but gets serious when it needs to.

Plus there's the video games that really hammered this home. You ONLY see Zakus move like this in the original show. They can't even move this good in other shows that take place in the same era. Mobile suits weren't able to actually move with agility like this until the F90 era. This is more 70s animation than actual realism of the suit

Zakus never do anything that crazy in the rest of the show.
That being said, there is also proof of high Zaku agility. (Char’s zaku’s limiter was turned off so he can go past the regulation limits, showing that zaku MSs had the ability to have higher agility performances then what is normally seen.)

It's the episode where an Ex Zeon Soldier takes care of a children that were victims of war, he left Zeon becuz of the guilt and swore to protect them as family, keep them away from any war. In the end Amuro fulfills the man's dream by throwing the Zaku into the sea
and now they're doing a movie of this based on The Origin. i just hope it does so well that they HAVE to do an OVA where Cucuruz Doan ends up in the Future Century and fights Domon and the God Gundam
One of, no, my favorite episode of the original MSG. It was so cool to see a Zaku throw down like that and the story itself was really good. I can’t wait to see the movie and hope it is a good.

because of the animation and continuity errors this makes the Zaku look like it has regenerating abilities to restore lost and damaged parts, lol.
