- I've been a customer of StatelyMen for 6 Months.
I've received the $150 box every other month. Today, I cancelled it.
Watch the video to find out why.

thank you for saving me from wasting time and money, is there a company you would recommend for business/business casual attire, I’m 6’2 235ish and definitely need tall size shirts and potential 12.5/13 dress shoes depending on the brand.
It’s last chance clearance stuff that is about to go to south america to sell for a few dollars.
Thanks so much for posting this. It seems like the business model can be done right. Personal stylists in scale. Have an employee who spends a half hour(tops) a day on each customer. The fact that you’re a 52 and were getting 48’s just tells me they are trying to squeeze so much out of it that they just aren’t paying attention. At this point, they are just relying on a certain percentage of people forgetting to return stuff or cancel. Garbage.
I totally agree!
This is helpful
Glad to hear.
They started an ad campaign a few months ago saying they have all new clothes and more sizes. I reached out to their customer service and found out that they still can not handle anyone who isn’t slim or lean (so no dad bods) and they still can’t handle folks who are 6ft or taller.
@@TheDadBod you got a new subscriber
Awesome!!!
Perfect timing too, I’m working on 3 new videos this weekend.
Two suit reviews (one good and one horrible) and a studio tour that folks have been asking me to do for a year now.
Thanks for posting this. You just saved me from trying them out! I’ll look for a different company! Glad I found your video
Glad to help
If you can get The Dad Bod to post a positive video about your company; I’ll subscribe the presidential plan the same day it’s posted for a year.
Horrible company. Post a recording of your phone call with the company. I was going to try them, but now I won't. Thank you for your informative review.
I got an email a couple months back. Generic mass email. Said they’ve upgraded their clothes and sizes.
I emailed their customer service who informed me they in fact did not upgrade their sizes. So, yup. Nothings changed.
This comment was 3 months ago and in the comment, I said that "a couple month's back"... so, that would be prior to mid-spring of 2022. My comment was accurate at the time based off of the information the StatelyMan "concierge" provided. But I will still not try the subscription again because even if the clothing does fit this time; being charged for clothing that I specifically asked not to be sent is a bit of a let down for me. I may pay more for my clothes now but I wear the clothing that I purchase. I'm no longer paying for clothes that just collect dust.
I wish I would have watched this before I signed up. I am under 6 ft and I LOVE plaid and they still sent me a box of ugly clothes that won't work because they are all various flashing shades of dark blue. I requested an exchange and got another pile of ugly blue clothes.
Bummer. Sorry to hear that.
I’m so glad I watched this. I’m 6’4” 240 and it sounds like this company isn’t my kinda company.
glad I could help.
I shop on line big tall guy
Thank you for sharing your honest opinion I'm looking for a different company..
I reached back out to them about 2 months ago. They have been emailing saying to come back and their clothes are better than ever. (Generic mass emails, not specific to me).
I emailed their support who said they still can’t cater to my size.
@@TheDadBod why even bother trying so what company are you with now..
I’m not. I’ve reviewed most of the mens subscription boxes last year. I didn’t find any that I wanted to stay with after the reviews were done. None of them felt like a value for the money.
Avoid this company. The clothing is not what is on the ads and the customer service is deplorable. I am tall and gave them the details- after the return they sent me items with the same issues.
Yup. That’s the same thing that happened to me. A few items were nice but all in all, more than half of what I got didn’t fit which meant I was basically paying double for the half that did fit, which meant i was overpaying.
I was not happy with StatelyMen.
Are there any sub boxes you acutally do recommend? I'm 6'4 and a big guy, and it's hard as hell to find anything worth the money.
Menlo has been good so far. I just got my 3rd box.
yeah im slim and they are trash
Still are.
I wish I watched this video before. I'm in similar situation. I got $300 box of stuff that I will never wear (maybe socks). I tried to return the package only to learn ....Stately Man does not accept returns. So only option I have is to exchange it, however seeing the items in my first box and now this video I'm very skeptical. Stay away from this company. BTW I wear slim fitting clothes
At least you figured it out one box in. Coulda been worse.
I normally dont limit anything in the comments other than spam. But I had to hide stately man’s from commenting because they got crazy. They started posting on everyone’s comments saying I was deleting their comments and that I was making the whole thing up. That they told me they couldn’t accommodate me and that I wasn’t asking for exchanges. (I have the unboxings on video). They got real nasty so I had to prohibit them from leaving comments.
Thanks for your video, I hope they refunded you, I will look for a different company after hearing your experience, and you look good the way you are
They sent out emails saying they’ve made upgrades to their clothes. I emailed them, turns out they still don’t really accommodate bigger or taller men yet.
@@TheDadBod I am actually a small guy, but they didn't show credibility for what they did with you, I need new clothes, I am bad to select right combinations
Their clothes won’t help much with picking out outfits.
What I suggest is prime wardrobe. You can try on for free for 7 days.
Check out my video on Amazon brands that I did a few weeks ago. Might help better understand their brands. Then just try them out to see what you like.
I've gotten two boxes and wasn't impressed with either. Same problem with not reading style preferences or looking at "inspiration photos" 1st box was good but sent slim pants despite me saying in 3 places, no slim. 2nd box wasn't remotely close to what they advertise or what I've said I liked. I want to give it one more try but I feel like I might be spinning my wheels. Thanks for the review!
They still email me regularly with their automated “we want you back” emails that say they’ve updated their processes and sizes.
I reached out to them about 2-3 weeks ago to confirm. Spoke with them online to which they said they have not increased their sizes. They hope to have it done by mid-late 2022. 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah my issue isn't the size but rather the style. I'm 5'11" 190. The slim stuff fits, I just don't like it . The 2nd box looks like its for a meat head college kid. I go more for the classic/modern 39 year old lol
Makes sense.
They sent me a lot of slim.
And plaid.
I know i did. I would send things that didnt fit back, and they would send items of the same size. Then, if i wanted to send those back because they obviously didn't fit; I would have to pay for the shipping. Additionally, the stylist didn't pay attention because I clearly had it stated, and I explained to them monthly that I can't wear slim fitting clothing and do not like plaid. But yet thats what I got month after month.
Despite the fact that this would probably fit me, it sounds like a company that would best be avoided. I doubt they aren't having similar issues with all the customers.
I’m still deliberating on which one to try next.
@@TheDadBod You mean one of the same company's other boxes? Can you do all of us a favor and state a preference to NOT get a certain common item/trait again (eg Plaid) and see if it keeps showing up? I'm thinking they are just ignoring user profiles and shipping any available stock they have.
No. A different company.
The different StatelyMen boxes just include more items. (That won’t fit me).
I’m signed up for the Winston Box (big and tall). I’ve got like 8 that I’m considering. Still trying to narrow it down to one to replace StatelyMen.
There was no disclaimer when I signed up. And, every time I reached out to customer service... the concierge; they explained to me that they do have clothing that would fit my height (since I'm not big, just tall). Each time they would tell me they would update my style profile and make sure I get proper clothing, and each time; they would fail to do so. It wasn't until I cancelled that they told me that they couldn't accommodate my 6ft 2 height. Additionally, they completely ignored my style profile when I said i don't wear slim fitting clothes or plaid.
The fact they are sending you 7diamonds for you size is funny to me. 7diamonds is one of my fav shirt brands and from my experience this is not a brand for anyone that’s not skinny-thin. Atleast from everything I have worn of theirs.
Yeah, the 7Diamonds is made for a more leaner person. LOL
Damn this sounds like it was a rough and stressfull experience :/
Wasn’t the type of experience I would want anyone else to go through. Especially for what it costs.
I found that the value of the clothes that came from Stately was on par with the kind of items you fish out of a bin in a bargain basement store. Nothing like what they show in their social media ads or ship to influencers. Stay away. See also Stitch Fix. I think they buy truckloads of unsold items from retailers and pass it on as “upscale selected just for you” through crafted marketing photos. Nothing I ever received was anything remotely close to what they show in their social media posts or what I had selected in my profile (or the extended profile you can add photos to). Someone may be the type that really can’t pick clothing; in that case this service may somehow help but for your money it would be better for you to actually ask for advice in a clothing store.
I agree
Can't agree with you on this but to each is own😢,EVERYTHING I'VE RECEIVED has been on point, especially your "ben Sherman" products.
Thank you for the update.
Thank you for posting.
I don't know why I'm laughing throughout this video bc I placed my first order with them yesterday. Yikes! I should be crying I guess. lol
Hopefully you’ll have a better experience than I did.
@@TheDadBod Thanks. Hope you find the perfect match. Interested in hearing about it when you do.
