My friends!!! In an effort to explain each of the innovations we’ve developed for Teleport, I’m going to make a separate video / email for each main theme. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU'D LIKE ME TO ADDRESS! #1 is “Precision Looping.” I’m sure you - like me - have felt that making loops in time has always felt like pure luck when you get it right. It’s almost like magic. That’s for 2 main reasons: 1. The record stop is on the RELEASE of the footswitch, not the press. 2. There isn’t smart drum machine / metronome with a count in that snaps your playing to the grid. To learn more, click the video above - and then get excited for Black Friday by entering your email on teleport.guitargate.com to be first in line to teleport!
So excited for you Michael and I'm happy you chose to produce it in America, ensuring better labour practices! Can't really afford one right now, but maybe the next crop!
Yes!! Having to tap/double tap/hold for the most basic looper functions with a single button has vexed me for years. The absolute #1 reason I love my Boomerang III - and ditched every other looper I've used - is because it has a dedicated record/stop button for each track and an entirely separate erase button. I don't have pay more attention to my foot than to what I'm playing, or worry about the half second of latency, or generally mess up as much. Sadly, I suspect end of life is near for that pedal. Until now, finding a suitable replacement seemed unlikely.
We’re gonna be able up upload any samples we want via over the air firmware update!! So if there’s a drum sample from an artist that has them, we’ll have the ability to send it to everyone’s pedal in seconds. And I know It is! I wish I could make it cheaper but I REALLY didn’t want to make glitchy overseas buggy crap.
Exactly. I never realized that was happening until I went to make one. As soon as I tried it like this I was sold. The difference is extremely noticeable. Like wicked precise.
Oh shit, well that explains my problem! I picked up an RC5 this summer and only briefly played with it. I just couldn't get the loop to feel smooth and this is why, I was expecting it to work on the press like with all my other pedals!
Awesome! I’m telling you it’s Rock solid, and feels great. You won’t regret getting the pre-sale deal! If it wasn’t lights out awesome I wouldn’t make it.
@@GuitargateWhat about midi control for more switches? My favorite looper for layout is actually the Boss RC50 which gives you quick access to 3 loops.
@@baronhead Yeah, I’ll never understand why there aren’t Verse/Chorus/Middle 8(or separate loop to put a rhythm part to solo over). I want to do it live. When it’s backing tracks, of prerecorded ones by myself, or whomever is performing, it just feels like advanced karaoke.
499 is the BF discounted price. It’s that price because it costs a lot to make… but it was done right. There’s not a single decision that came up where we chose to compromise quality.
This is certainly an interesting product. Just one comment for you. I noticed in the video from yesterday and in this one today, you say multiple tiimes that traditional loopers "feel like magic". Normally, that's a really positive thing. Tech products that "feel like magic" usually work very intuitively and just work. Perhaps it would be better to say that traditional loopers "are hit and miss" when it comes to getting a well timed loop down. Just a thought! Hope the launch goes well for you.
Couldn't agree more. I should elaborate for people reading: it feels like magic when you get it right! Like you don't know how you did it but you did it! (the reason is largely because record ending is on the release of the footswitch - not the press)
Should have the tempo light have a different color on the 1, so then the audio tap can then either be turned off or programmed to turn off after x-amount of measures. Just ideas! love what I’m seeing so far though!
Another good example of simple and effective looper is new sheeran looper+. I was familiar before with ditto, then boss rc 500 and boss rc10r. But when plugging sheeran, it is pure joy to use without any complicated menus or anything. I could just do everything without reading manual and it tells something. Cheers mate, didn't know the looper u presented here, but is looking also very comfortable to use.
It's my first (and only) physical product called teleport. I know people love the sheeran one. Simple and intuitive is absolutely essential. Menu diving and manuals are the worst.
I have had an RC3 for a long time now and I can't stand that thing. I've never been able to get the timing right and there always winds up being a small delay before the loop starts again. This video makes soooooo much sense.
I’ve always wanted a looper with click/drums. Nice. Button wise, my electro harmonic has two buttons and is very easy to use. Single click for everything, but the click thing in your looper is intriguing. I’m afraid to see how much it costs.
@ thanks Michael. Unfortunately, a bit out of reach at the moment. Love your channel, btw. Contemplating becoming a subscriber for the lesson content. One last thing, how ‘bout an Eva Cassidy reaction? Autumn Leaves? It’s insanely good. Just sayin…
The RC500 is probably your closest competitor- it does almost all you say but nowhere near as intuitive to use- I think adding wireless and the functional screen are genius ideas 👍 the rc500 does do intros, set the beat, import other people loops but via USB and record on button press (th-cam.com/video/X3JY03lsebc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3IfctoCjcX9QSUqT) but like I said, nowhere near as user friendly as yours. I've preordered one and will defo order on friday and hope you sell millions 😊
@@Guitargate Just piggybacking on the comment from @harryharrison4749 , I have an older generation RC300 and it has several of these features. For example, you can set it up so that it doesn't start to record until it hears something come through the input. Additionally, you can set the tempo and number of bars in a way that it automatically ends the loop at the end of the 12th bar. So, let's say you set the tempo to 160 like in the video and you activate one of the many drum kits in the RC500, you don't need the count-in. You just start playing when you're ready and if you play according to the beat, the looper circle's back to bar #1 and goes into overdub mode. Then you can stop it when ever you want (or add more in the overdub). Now, if you want, you can choose not to use auto-start and instead do a count-in and still keep the tempo/bars setting. @harryharrison4749, the RC500 must be capable of this. All this said, I still think the Teleport is amazing. Extremely innovative Michael and my guess is that Boss or one of the other looper manufacturers will express an interest in acquiring it from you. I just hope you've patented the social features a business process/workflow patent. I don't think you get a patent on the first-button press feature since some other loopers (including the RC500) do that as well. Anyway, I'm a lifetime member. This is awesome and I could see how this may have drawn some inspiration from how students can upload/share their work to the lessons. This just takes that to another level.
Ooooo. We can make it do that. This is the beauty of Wi-Fi … if people want something, we just make it and release a firmware update. The app automatically checks for updates and it only takes 10 seconds or so.
@@Guitargate thanks for the answer! This sounds amazing actually - I love to use loopers on stage and having a visual representation of the tap would be amazing and useful. You mentioned we are able to change the speed of the loop - is there actually a reverse function?
RC-10R user here. NGL, it kinda sucks. Incredibly difficult to sync up and the built in drums are ridiculous and not in a good way. Knowing the release is the start should help me.
So fucking buying this!!! I've had like 5 super expensive loopers but they all frustrate me in all the ways this video talks about! This is exactly what I want!!!
@ I even bought the Aeros looper and the Aeros beat buddy. Impossible to get it to worl well. Sold both and lost like 400 bucks. Soooo getting this!! And being able to hear peddals before I buy them? Are you effing shitting me? I return 80% of the pedals i buy because when i get them they dont sound like what they did on youtube
Is there a full demo of this? I’ll have to look around . I make several instrumental loops at my gigs, just a rhythm loop of chords then play melody and solo. The problem with the RC3 is stopping the loop AND erasing it at the same time with two taps and the second one has to be held. Does your looper have a dedicated erase button that won’t start playback? If so I’m Interested..
Oh this is a great question. So - yes - playback will not stop if you are undoing any track or overdub that is not the ONLY track. In other words, if you have just 1 track holding C will clear and stop the track (because it’s empty now). But if you have a track and you record another one, holding C will undo / redo without the track stopping. Does that make sense?
@ ok, what would be most useful for my personal application would be a separate “button” to clear the recorded loop silently when not in overdub mode. I’ll keep an eye out for any of your demos. I’m sure there will be other artists demoing the looper as well. Congrats on the launch 👍
Totally get it. the Wi-Fi tech makes it next-level awesome but costs a ton to manufacture. Even selling direct to customers doesn’t leave much margin. Wish I could make it cheaper!
I've tried so many differents loopers but still keep my RC3 because of its simplicity and yes that's always the problem of start and stop. That's why i always use it in auto rec mode to start recording exactly at the good time it's like a precount for me, and it help me to record in right time but still got the problem in stop that right and i allways press it very fast 🙈😂 ok I register my email🙏👍
Howdy! Everyone should absolutely practice with a loop pedal. It allows you to work on rhythm and lead playing. And teleport will really help you play IN TIME - which is the main thing most beginners (actually everyone) needs to work on. Thanks!
You are telling me the Boss is not capable of measuring the time between first press and last release and removing that couple of milliseconds from the recording?
I cant speak for boss, but I tell you that we spent a lot of time working on this and the short answer is doing that doesn’t feel right / natural. If you want it snappy and immediate, it needs to be dedicated. If the foot switch does multiple things you have to give up something. Believe me - this was a long multi-month exploration - and we really wanted to have the L foot switch do more things - but it just felt so much better and natural this way. It’s very noticeable.
@wusluf I think @guitargate is correct on the RC3 bacause one button has to do everything. Also, it's such an older generation that whatever digital logic is in the RC3 could not possibly handle that sophisticated of a task in a millisecond. I'm pretty sure that the Teleport has the option of working with much more advanced and faster-thinking silicon.
So it's a loop pedal for people that can't play in time? You will sell millions of these.😂 Jk.. My favorite feature is the ability to change the tempo. I've only seen one other looper offer that.
