- Salty about having been out-chained so easily, I come back with a 24 chain (at about 6:10) and don't immediately die, too. In fact, we max out the timer and I win the game!
Big chains being as contagious as they are, my opponent takes a shot at defending the title at 8:10, but only comes up with a 19 chain.
Opponent's wishful thinking: "Man, wouldn't it be funny if I got a 25 right after your 24? Like in the same game?"
No cutesy annotations counting out the chains this time. Too many question marks to wrangle with TH-cam on this one. - เกม
Tetris attack is such a brilliant game. Still my favorite puzzle game to this day.

I find it extremely annoying
I think in any remake, there could be an option to turn off the audio for combos, and chains, instead the game displaying something quick on the affected player's screen, or part of screen. Alternatively, there could be an option for the player to set for using both sound effects, and visuals; like how frequently within a set amount of time the sound effect can repeatedly play, or just how many chains/combos can be done in a single succession, before the game stops using that audio effect for that particular chain, or combo.
Likewise, there should be another audio adjustment on when the regular music stops, and the panic music plays, or you could just choose the panic, or regular theme to play.
Obviously, these are more nitpicking than anything else, and I'm sure the rom size for the game was only so big. The game did have the benefit of being released (1995) towards the end of the SNES lifespan, which means that the developers probably had a very good understanding of how to squeeze a lot onto the rom, and get the most out of the SNES.
I love how the game is like "Hooooly crap, we don't have a sprite for that. Uhhhh... 'X?' "
That'll always be one of my fondest memories.
My sister and I were playing (we have a rivalry going on for 15years) in front of friends, trying to get them to play. Then as we start chaining things up and getting intense, people start screaming "Wtf is this?!" and almost right after, the game starts echoing our "WTFs" by displaying "???" all over the place.
That game stayed a family rivalry, as none of our friends wanted to try their hands against us after seeing that one as an introduction.
To this day my siblings and I are still going at it. Lol

Nintendo probably didn't expect players to do that many chains, so they put that in just in case it rarely does happen.

Nunca había hecho una cadena de combos tan larga así que no sabía que después del decimo tercer combo se deja de contar. Tampoco sabía que en el modo Versus el tiempo no llega a los diez minutos. Simplemente es un videojuego que me encanta.

Ah yes, i would easily crush either of these opponents as i was very very good at immediately getting a few 10x and 11x garbage dumps
The highest x i ever got against my bro was a 26x which was fucking insane, the match lasted over half an hour and ofcourse i won because i practiced like hell
And after years later i got the blue screen of victory no deaths very hard mode so i hope this game comes to the switch so i can bury my family members under the immeasurable power of insanity i possess
I will say player 1 has an excellent recovery, lots of botched moves but high strain recovery is the number one thing that saved them in terms of strat
You never want to scramble your moves too often, one little wrong move and you can instant death
Also wasting moves of small attacks that aren't combo chains are wasted efforts, you are literally feeding your enemy life lines of recovery
You want to feed atleast 4 or 5 10x+ combos to start off then you want to start building snowballs of 15x+s and save ? Blocks for a rainy summon
Bottom line, stress your opponent out and make them go on an endless defensive, when they break concentration, you win, period

looks to me at a high level the game becomes too easy. all that time while the rocks disintegrate.... for a expert player its far too much time to plan, the game becomes too easy; this is why it doesn't have a semi pro scene.
