i don't do this for a living
pseudoregalia - sansa keep key challenge
obsessed with pseudoregalia lately, and in particular with how nonlinear it is. this game makes me feel like the super metroid creeps must have felt when they invented reverse boss order.
so to celebrate, here is a crummy little video showcasing a short challenge route i came up with, that diverges very early from the usual and is simple enough for my boomer hands to execute.
it's still a bit of a challenge because it's pretty much the minimum gear required to get this key: you need greaves, which requires slide, and you need one more thing so why not ascendant light?
i guess this is minimum for my skill level, where i can't do ultrahops or whatever because i'm on controller
sorry if i sound a little hoarse, i have a throat thing.
luckily my voice is undermixed and my commentary is irrelevant.
and i used this video to test out youtube captioning and chapters and stuff. (i'm procrastinating)

looks to me at a high level the game becomes too easy. all that time while the rocks disintegrate.... for a expert player its far too much time to plan, the game becomes too easy; this is why it doesn't have a semi pro scene.

I swear nothing feels more intense than when the music changes and the shapes stop bouncing and you can clearly see a big boy sittin on top of all of that. This game introduced me to a thing called anxiety

Ah yes, i would easily crush either of these opponents as i was very very good at immediately getting a few 10x and 11x garbage dumps The highest x i ever got against my bro was a 26x which was fucking insane, the match lasted over half an hour and ofcourse i won because i practiced like hell And after years later i got the blue screen of victory no deaths very hard mode so i hope this game comes to the switch so i can bury my family members under the immeasurable power of insanity i possess
I will say player 1 has an excellent recovery, lots of botched moves but high strain recovery is the number one thing that saved them in terms of strat You never want to scramble your moves too often, one little wrong move and you can instant death Also wasting moves of small attacks that aren't combo chains are wasted efforts, you are literally feeding your enemy life lines of recovery You want to feed atleast 4 or 5 10x+ combos to start off then you want to start building snowballs of 15x+s and save ? Blocks for a rainy summon Bottom line, stress your opponent out and make them go on an endless defensive, when they break concentration, you win, period

All throughout my own playthrough I was looking forward to watching a speedrun of this game, and it has pretty much been the mixture of crazy skips, satisfying jumps and frustrating physics that I expected. Thanks for showing this gem the love it deserves!

the stylization of Kameks attacks sending his blasts in increasingly shiny form, the chant of "HOCUS POCUS" every sound is BLISS. Excellent play too, what a slug fest.
