I've watched so many of your videos and am so so so thankful!! I'm seriously considering becoming an RN and your videos have taken sooo much of the fear out of it. You make me feel like I can conquer the world through these amazing videos. Thank you so much for your channel!!!!
I'm so happy my videos have helped you, Bethany :) THANK YOU for your really kind words about them. You definitely should consider it because it is an amazing career. Also, if you do decide to go my TH-cam channel has many other videos like lectures that will help you in your nursing classes along with free quizzes and notes. I hope you pursue it :) Best wishes!
My prerequisites are very different from yours. Mine are English I, Intro to Biology, Human A&P I, Human A&P II, Microbiology, and Intro to psych. I am also allowed to take intro to sociology right now with my prerequisites but intro to sociology is a part of the nursing program
Im actually going to start this summer with some of the pre requisites. Thank you for your videos. Im a little less terrified lol but the hesi test is what I'm nervous about
I actually figured out a way to get into nursing school without the pre-requisite courses. I think there are so many creative ways to get into the field!
To get through the tough parts of nursing school FA Davis buy everything you need to study and become proficient. Then volunteer at a local hospital once your confident in one field and recite the terms than listen to a recording of reciting the terms while you sleep. If your bad at math... your not going to make it that well, If you can't spell you might as well quite now.
Wow! Don’t quit if your bad at math and spelling, you may just have to study a little more and work harder? If anyone ever tells you to quit or give up on your dreams get away from them. They are having a lot of internal issues! Also don’t take it personal. Negative and self conscious people put others down to elevate themselves, more times than not it has nothing to do with you or whomever they are using as a step ladder. Good luck to everyone on your journey! May God Bless your path.
You said that the A&P 1 and 2 with labs and microbiology was what the nursing programs looked at the most. Are the English, info tech, and other classes necessary to take also? I was wondering because I didn't want to waste money on classes I didn't need.
It varies between nursing programs on what classes you have to take. Most BSN programs require you take English, info tech etc. as pre-reqs to get into their program. I would look at the class requirements of a nursing program you want to attend and see what classes you will have to take. Thanks for watching the video!
Can anyone tell me how long getting the prerequisites typically take for an Associates nursing program? I remember hearing from this one girl a few years ago who said had been doing prerequisites for the nursing program at our local community college...and she said she had been doing them full time for more than 2 years....
The prerequisites for an Associates can take you maybe like a year and a half depending on how many courses you take each semester. I am taking all my basics for the Associates and Bachelors and I believe I will finish next fall semester and it took me 2 years.
Jen Tuesday it usually takes a year if you go to school full time. The ones that take most of your time are the science classes A&P 1 and 2 chemistry and biology. You have to pass one I other to move to the next one. It also depends on the requirements for the college you plan to attend. I will be starting this spring and if I pass all my classes I should be able to apply for the nursing program. It’s a weighted grade. You take the TeAS in which you have to score 50 or higher. They combine your grades, gpa and teas score. They accept a certain amount t of students with the highest grades.

I'll watch all your videos. I did go back and got a HS diploma so I did that .
Yeah dude just apply to community college and start taking the pre requisite courses for their nursing program and if you pass those you can focus on studying for the entrance exam to officially be a nursing student. I recommend everyone look into community college LPN programs to start off. It’s a lot of work but I think it’s achievable for people from most walks of life and you can be making a live-able wage within 2 years in most cases. Hope this helps!
Hello Clarie! A good book to use as a study guide for biology is called "Biology for Dummies"...it is a great refresher and can help you prep for the class. You could also use the book to help you prep for your exams. Check Amazon.com for the best deals and try to go with a used edition to save money. I hope that helps...best wishes. Thanks for watching the video.

Hello, I’m a sophomore in highschool planning ahead. Will dual enrollment help knock some prerequisites off the list or will I still have to take them over again
I'm also doing dual enrollment and I'm pretty sure you might have to take more prereqs even after graduation. However, if you take the required prerequisites during DE you could have a shot at getting into a program, though you'll probably be at a disadvantage to other applicants. It really all depends on the program or school.
Thanks for the great video, I live in Trinidad and Tobago but i don't have the prerequisite courses, is there a specific program i can take that includes all the prerequisites courses? And would i need to attend a class at a physical school in the USA for the prerequisites or is it available online.

It varies depending on the requirements set by the school (every program is different). I would look up a school you want to attend and see what they have listed for the requirements. Best wishes on the GED when you take it :)
