I started nursing school ten years ago. I didn’t do well for many reasons, I was a single mom with little support and no money and I was going through a very difficult break up. I let my personal life interfere with my goals. I also attended a program that required a very high mark to progress in the program (82%) At the time, I convinced myself that nursing wasn’t for me but in hindsight and as an older more experienced adult I realized my situation wasn’t conducive to being successful at any project. After a few years, I decided to give nursing another try. I completed an LPN program first because I was scared of not doing well in an RN program again. I loved it and loved working as an LPN! Last year I applied to a bridge program and with God’s help, I’ll be graduating in May with my RN! Don’t ever give up on your dreams! Thank you for your videos 😊

🥹🥹🥹🥹 I am literally in a similar situation! Like literally the same. I’m a teacher and trying to go back to nursing. I’m in the middle of applications but trusting that God has a plan and He didn’t bring me back to nursing for no reason there’s a purpose and I’m going to be a nurse. Sometimes I get super doubtful but this video and your comment has given me so much hope! Thank you for sharing ❤

@@Sammy-jn6su yeah can be, but fasfa covers it anyways, your grants will cover most of it and then you leave you with maybe 40k to pay off, plus if you get a job that pays tuition then you're also set! So even though its expensive its way better than public schools. Why? because the class sizes are super small, I have 11 people in my BSN program. Secondly you get more time to study and focus on nursing school instead of worrying about other classes that are not necessary that public schools like to throw in, clubs and electives etc. Third, your instructor is less busy and have a lot more time to guide you and help you through nursing school, compared to an instructor at a public school who have 1000's of students to worry about. Trust me its the best decision I ever made. The cost is nothing when you think of all the pro's you get going to a private school

Never give up! I’m a 15 yr cancer survivor who has seen too much 😆 & understand how important caring & compassionate individuals are! Even my oncology social worker who gave me fuel cards that were donations, was a great asset to healthcare. Medical receptionists, we love you! You take our stressed out calls as we attempt to get our results from nurses. I went to JCCC…Johnson County Community College (KC) & CCM…County College of Morris (NJ) for some nursing pre-reqs & they were excellent community colleges. I agree w/ just getting your foot in the door! In HS, I was a traypasser in food service at a hospital. So 10 yrs later, when getting a nurse asst job at Morristown Memorial in Ortho Surgical wing, I was immediately comfortable w/ walking into the hospital room to cheer up the patient & take vitals. I couldn’t continue college due to IBS & un-dx anemia, all pre-colon cancer. I was then unable to go back to any associates degree due to CIPN (chemo induced PN). So we need YOU! Please never give up! ❤

You're doing it all wrong. No one cares where you went to school. In Dayton Ohio, there were 2 nursing schools. The BSN school Wright State was constantly in trouble because students were not passing state boards. I went to the community College, Sinclair who was never in trouble, had a almost perfect record of State board pass rate the 1st time and had a better reputation for producing nurses who could clinically function independently and accurately right way. So while a AAS doesn't look as hot as a BSN on paper, that doesn't mean it's better. I ended up getting my BSN a year later after graduating from my AAS program in nursing but not in Dayton, rather I drove down to Cincinnati a hour a way 2-3 days a week and completed a RN to BSN program at the University of Cincinnati. There is nothing wrong with a community College, get your nursing degree there and you can even work on extra BSN transfer credits ar your community College. Oh, and one of my RN jobs was at Duke University Medical Center in the Surgical Trauma ICU and honestly no one really cares about that Duke name these days. Good luck

I was up against 1000's of other students and had a 3.8 GPA. This was in California. I moved to a small town in AZ and got in because there is no competition. Everyone gets in. I own a large house for way less than renting in los angeles. If you move to a small town, you will get in and become a nurse in a couples and then you can move anywhere you want.

Most of hem are almost 100% or even more than 100% in many classes that offered extra credits. I don't know what they are looking for. Nursing course is hard to get into. In my time, since the school I went into had a 100% passing rate for many years, first qualification is that you have to be in the upper 40% of the graduating class, otherwise you’re not qualified. Then there’s the nursing qualifying exam aside from the university exam, then a series of interviews after that. Those who passed all those, will have their names posted in the college’s bulletin board and only then you can enroll. 😂 when I enrolled in law school, there was also a written exam, and if you passed the written exam, a panel interview will be conducted and only successful applicants can enroll for law school. 😅 thankfully, I passed all of those and passed the board as well as the bar examination both on first take. 😅 So when people say to me that I’m not qualified, I’m like meeehh! 🤪 Like who you kidding?! Your exams were easy peasy… they try to bring you down with lots of excuses, and some of which even sounds ridiculous!😂 I actually confronted my head when I was working at a company, and when I gave my reason, she can’t even speak clearly as to why she gave me that rating.😂

The homeless in many states probably from Florida + other nursing schools/highway robbery. Please no one attend ICHS international college of health sciences in Boynton Beach (acen accredited). 90% student body are from California and unaware of battles & scheming that awaits. Spread The Word. 100s don't pass exit exam each semester and held there much longer than anticipated. "Contracts" change every semester. With that $$ you can move to any state's community college or support homeless!! Where goes the money ICHS?? Barely a campus. Little clinical site availability. Students pay proctor most exam. On campus testing is another nightmare. Exam questions completely random and each is at least 30-45% grade. Staff are 'fired' and rehired rotating positions constantly. Staff death from overdoses and fired for sexual favor 'rumors'. Even 'rumor' of students suicides. (I guess death happens in hospitals too, it's just preparation) Unable to reach staff by phone, email, or in-person and so many LIES. Family&friend-run business racket.
