Amazing timing, we have just been stripping apart our music workspace, while putting it all together there was a lot of collective complaining about the S88’s lack of useful buttons/ dials. And you popped up on our playlist, bingo 😊
Well explained but it is a minefield of a topic to explain. I had initial trouble setting up my Arturia Keylab Mk11 remote, but eventually managed to find a very comprehensive script which someone had developed and posted in the Arturia forum, which works extremely well.
I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of MIDI Remote (for example I don't have a mixing desk so don't have a clue how Mixer Banks work), but what it does for me it does very well.
Komplete users who can't figure out why they aren't getting anything when they try to learn knob turns: the hardware only sends the value if you have MIDI selected on the right side buttons. If you're in a project with NI instruments selected and you're in PlugIn mode on the keyboard it won't send the values you need for learn to work. I'm a huge fan of these videos. Useful topics, deep discussion, no hype. Also as a 25 year Cubase user I'm humbled by that fact that these are labeled "Basic Guides." Ouch.
Thanks for the info! I'm glad you find the guides useful... and agree that sometimes the word 'basic' has no place in the sentence :) 'The Not-As-Brain-Melting-As-It-Could-Be' series title might have been a better choice ;)
Hello, I have problem with faders from my Alesis QX-61 MIDI controler. When I try to assign that inside MIDi remote, it doesn't react. I checked that by MIDi monitor and realised that my fader from keybord and Cubase don't have any communication. MIDI massages from fader didn't appear there. Do you have any idea how to solve that problem?
That's a problem higher up the signal chain. Check your Devices in Studio Setup and verify that Cubase is properly seeing the hardware. I don't have any experience with Alesis personally, so perhaps posting your issue on the Cubase forum might yield an answer: forums.steinberg.net/c/cubase/6
A little off topic here but is there a way to have whatever panel (midi editor / top workspace) active for where the mouse is floating over. Like how the QC changes channel due to where the mouse is. Its one thing I can't get used to having to constantly click on the top ribbon of the midi editor or the top of the main view to activate that section of the daw. The amount of time I waste misclicking or forgetting to activate the other window drives me bloody nuts.
@@OneManAndHisSongs thank God it's not just me then, I actually feel better now I know others are in pain over the same thing ... (Sometimes I shouldn't speak out loud )🤣
Hi, I'm using Nektar Panorama P4, and my button doesn't lit up when I operate in cubase directly. For example, the solo button. If pressed on my midi keyboard it lights up and cubase also lights up and vice versa to turn off solo. But if I press 'S' key command for Solo, my midi keyboard doesn't lit up that button. Can you please help? Using cubase 13.
I don't know. When I press 'S' on my pc keyboard, the Solo button on my NI S49 does light up. Since I don't own any Nektar gear I can only suggest you try the Nektar forums or support team. Sorry :(

It appears my bat signal is finely tuned ;)

It'd have been nice to see if it's possible to copy knob or button rows to a new row or column or something.
I have been waiting for this one, thanks a lot ! :-)
You're welcome, hope it's useful!

No - and it annoys the hell out of me too!
