I love listening to this type of music. It helps me relax but other times I just become to mesmerized with it. When I know it really well, sometimes I like to sleep with it or listen to it when I do chores/hw.
This seems to play slower than I have heard before. I find if I adjust the video play speed up to "Fast" which is just a little faster, it then seems right to be. Sounds like it is dragging otherwise.
@arydyk Don't know what the problem is, but it is not how I am used to hearing it. I will just used the other sites I have found it on. Do like the painting though.
@Halad49 - I agree with you; at places it's just ponderous. With Satie, the tempo, the dynamics, the whole approach has to be just right. Maybe we just like it how we hear it first time. I still have my old vinyl from the 60s of Aldo Ciccolini; to my ears, he's the best I've heard playing Satie.

The musicians themselves are in somewhat of an entranced state. This is diligent work, all wrapped in purity.

In the 1890s..1900 this would have been innovative and totally explosively new music to the listeners...almost like punk was to us.
