    How long does the fully dipped ones last? How far in advance can it be made for a party and proper storage ?

      Hi Nina, I've eaten chocolate dipped rice krispie treats a month after they were made and they still tasted great. I always store mine in an airtight container at room temperature. The treats that are entirely covered in chocolate will have the best shelf life.

      There is no need to refrigerate them. Actually, I don't recommend storing Rice Krispie Treats in the refrigerator. Just place them in an airtight container and let them sit at room temperature. They'll taste fresh for at least 5 days.

    Can i use sugar instead marshmallows..tq

    • @HungryHappenings
      @HungryHappenings  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The marshmallows are sticky and they hold the cereal together. You can make cereal treats using homemade caramel instead of using marshmallows. You can see that recipe here - howtomakecerealtreats.com/caramel-rice-krispie-treats/ They aren't as sticky as treats made with marshmallows but they taste amazing, especially dipped in chocolate.

    My sons 3rd birthday is coming u money is kinda tight I wanted to do fun DIY snacks that everyone can enjoy I have a question how do you store these?? Because I wanna make em the day before his event can they be refrigerated?

    • @HungryHappenings
      @HungryHappenings  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These chocolate-dipped Rice Krispie Treats will stay fresh for up to a week if stored in an airtight container (like Tupperware or Rubbermaid) at room temperature. Do NOT refrigerate Rice Krispie Treats. They'll absorb too much moisture and will taste stale very quickly.

    What did you use to stand the treats upward as the dried ?

    • @HungryHappenings
      @HungryHappenings  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually allowed them to fully dry on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet but then to display them I used a cake pop display that was custom made for me by Janine from SugarKissed.com. Unfortunately, she is no longer making and selling them.

    What kind of chocolate you used ??

    • @HungryHappenings
      @HungryHappenings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally like to use Peter's Burgundy Chocolate (ad) (amzn.to/3o8KGTK) or Callebaut Belgian Dark Semisweet 811 Callets (amzn.to/3HbWRXq). Both of those are pure dark chocolates and will need to be melted and tempered. You can also use Ghirardelli Melting Wafers, Wilton Candy Melts, or any other compound chocolate (confectionery coating or almond bark) to make these chocolate-dipped rice crispy treats. These only need to be melted.

      @@dbuckets1494 Yes, you can use any pure dark chocolate you enjoy eating. Just be sure to temper it. If you use Ghirardelli Melting Wafers (in the red stand-up bag), you do not need to temper them. You can simply melt, dip, and chill. They will harden beautifully.

    Do you recommend dipping the Rice Krispie treats in the chocolate right away or let them harden for a couple minutes - however long?

    • @HungryHappenings
      @HungryHappenings  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You need to allow the rice krispie treats to firm up and cool before cutting them and dipping them in the chocolate. I would let them rest for at least 30 minutes but longer would be better.

      Yes, I have two recipes on the HowToMakeCerealTreats site that use syrup instead of marshmallows. This one uses corn syrup - howtomakecerealtreats.com/caramel-rice-krispie-treats/
      and this one uses honey - howtomakecerealtreats.com/honey-peanut-butter-rice-krispie-treats/

    I just want a nice size for shower favors but not square.

    • @HungryHappenings
      @HungryHappenings  ปีที่แล้ว

      I spread the Rice Krispie treat mixture into a 9x13-inch pan and then cut the pan of treats into 18 rectangles. The treats are about 2 inches by 3 inches. The bite-size treats are about 1 1/2 inches square.
