This series hits me so hard. I lost my wife ten years ago. I can understand his joy at being able to speak with his wife again. I wish I could do that with my Holly.
The thing i love the most about anime is that they don't care if some people will dislike their shows, they make the shows to tell a story, whatever that story might be, not to please the most amount of watchers possible.
Crunchyroll changing the name was a real genius move, because no normal person would watch a show with that kind of title... Luckily for me I ain't normal
I tend to think it’s the abnormal ones who judge books by their covers and cannot distinguish fiction from reality, leading to pearl-clutching meltdowns over nothing. And all they’d have to do to avoid that is some low-level thinking and looking.
@@unquicheBeyond just judging a book by its cover, one wonders how they can be so stupid as to forget to read the summary on the 4th cover before spewing their venom.
I don't know man, I tryed this rule with Redo of Healer but the show was garbage for me. But yeah I loved Ishisoku Reviewers, Gushing over Magical Girls, Goblin Slayer season 1 (season 2 was boring so I drop half way).
I really liked how both Keisuke and Takae changed after they met, were immediately "spotted" by potential new love interests. How little need to be seen in a completely different light. You can feel when a person is happy, even if they don't show it.
Just finished the first two episodes. This is definitely one of my favorite premieres of the fall season so far and I'm eager to see more. Such an incredible blend of joy and sorrow, warmth and pain, past and present, young and old, now and then. I'm very impressed.
I could not help but hear Tanya when the Mom started scolding her former familly. I was almost expecting her to tell them to pick a rifle and start doing warcrimes...
Like you said the only really unfortunate part about this show is the dang title. I mean sure taken literally it's technically accurate but it just sounds strange.
Loved it. I am wondering if the anime will cover the entire source material in one season as it’s already finished. The anime opening revealed a character that appears like around halfway into the manga and the anime pacing is pretty fast but well done.
Imagine if you go blind dating few years after your wife dies, and then your blind date was actually your wife reincarnation. And her memory back after she saw him.
I was fearful that the father was going to be so blinded by his happiness at having his wife back that he was going to ignore the signs that his wife was struggling. I'm glad that isn't going to be a plot point in this show, honestly. I'm very intrigued and looking forward to where this show goes.
4:07 honestly don’t see it as a bad thing personally I see a very wholesome story with it you know people judges things to easily it stuff like that is why taboo types of relationships aren’t that accepted even if you legalize them there still people who will find it weird
Spoiler... She'll lose again her memories of her old family. Drama intensify. Accident happens to her daughter. Ends up, she was just faking the memory lost to protect them. Drama reached climax then closure talk. She and her new mother moved away. 15 yrs later, she comes back. Happy ending. Probably.
Loved episode 1 i got to watch episode 2 next also Remind me why this show is controversial agian because if its cuz The west is a bunch of weirdos who look at a title and judge. They are not people who watch anime so it's not something to concern ourselves with feels like a Uzaki-chan 2.0
This shows was fenomonal, a stupid name for a brilliant show, I really hope the content gets through and that people don't pass on it just because of the title, there is clearly a lot of thought and care put into this series! Can't wait to watch more of it!
We watched the first two episodes and are not sure about it. It is a little unsettling how he wants to interact with her knowing how society would judge him. I think he would be wise to let his daughter take the lead with her thereby protecting himself.
A series dealing gutpunches you say? Oshi no Ko season 2 just finished so I was looking for a replacement to keep the EMOTIONAL DAMAGE coming. Sounds like its a perfect fit!
widow husband and single mother, a mother's daughter is the widow ex-wife. Bit Cliche and coincidental, if the single mother is good person she could just match making her with her ex-husband, if she do that they can be family again as step daughter.
I'll probably wait until the episodes are complete then binge cry... er... watch it. I already have a big emotional show I'm committed to watching weekly; Re:Zero.
Takae is going to experience a different variation of what it is to be Mai. Because Mai had a dad who seems like he might've as well died with his wife for all he seemed 'alive' at the start. Whereas Takae's 'new' mom has dating issues and is an irresponsible and bad parent, but it's in a different way. Takae's current situation is very possibly that of an abused child, and yet here she is being the mother figure to people who have been grief-striken into being lost boys.
Talking about Mai's situation... this reminds me, there's Shiota-sensei and Amai-chan. In that story "Mai" is he protagonist, but there's no mother coming back and the father never recovers and she suffers double because of this to the point of almost mind breaking... until she gets into a relationship with her teacher. I have the impression that these stories of "forbidden love" changed from how they used to be in the past. Now it's much more about the "love" part and the miracles this love can do for the character than about just the alluring of the "forbidden" part and having it as an end goal.
Like everyone alse i judge it by his name and PV ( they realy didnt try to make it less controversial ) but hearing from you that it was not what it looks like i give it a try, realy enjoy this first 2 ep im not a sensitive person but i almost cry not about what the anime shows but more about what would i do in that situation, take and the husband ( i don't remember the name ) in his pov my first tought would obviously be happines that shr is back and i only have to wait to be with her again but ofc this would be a nono for the society and who would believe about reincarnation ? So the tought that they can't be together and would find other persons to spend their life with even thoug they still love eachother realy brakes me, in a superficial isekai fantasy filled media a show that make you think this much and this deep is pure gold can't wait for the next episode.
Really glad they released the 2 episodes together because not gonna lie I was somewhat uncomfortable during the first ep, but by ep 2 I was fully invested. Plus Ao Yuki is back with her 'Spider-so-what?' voice!
Understandable. Streaming changed a lot in our lives so much I rarely now go to theaters and the NFL season and MLB playoffs are taking too much of my time. I even skipped Summer anime except Oshi no Ko.
I like the concept of the show, but it's really not very well done. What it lacks in subtlety, it makes up for in ham-fisted, on-the-nose, and over-the-top execution. And yes, that's a sarcastic way of putting it because none of those things make up for the total lack of nuance or subtlety in the way the show is presented. Add to that a 40-year-old man who can't get it through his thick skull that he can't just announce to the world that a 10-year-old girl is his wife, and you get a show that _could_ have been really good but misses the mark, in my not-so-humble opinion.
Can you blame the husband tho? He’s been struggling with grief over the death of his wife for 10 years. Everyone around him says how gloomy he became ever since his wife died. As someone that lost someone very dear to me I understand where he’s coming from and how your emotions can cloud reality. I watched all the current episodes out, and I have to say all the characters are written pretty realistically handling the store pretty well for the type of unorthodox story that it is

soo let me get this straight you Would be ok with your wife becoming a elementary school student ?

Controversial shows tend to be one of the best because they are not afraid to tackle very difficult questions and situations.
The thing i love the most about anime is that they don't care if some people will dislike their shows, they make the shows to tell a story, whatever that story might be, not to please the most amount of watchers possible.
Coincidence, but tsumasho sounds very much like "Sue my show"

Having lost my mother at 24 years old i can understand them perfectly, i would do anything to talk to her again.

Episode 2 got me bawling my eyes
dang, ep 6 is even sadder
Man I was depressed for days when I finished the manga.. it's so beautiful. Glad I gave this a shot and didn't mind the title.
Both episodes made me cry 😭
The manga was incredible, I read it about a year ago and it left me in tears so many times. Can’t wait to start the anime
There is also a live adaptation 2 years ago.
*The most depth stories have the weirdest titles!* - my quote
I could not help but hear Tanya when the Mom started scolding her former familly. I was almost expecting her to tell them to pick a rifle and start doing warcrimes...
I read the manga and found the story to be well-told and intriguing. I hope the anime adaptation will do it justice.
fact
this anime has a live action streamed in 2022
The premise is the exact same as the Hentai Innocent: shoujo memoria and no, i'm not fooling around.
bro the last chapter of the manga made me cry 😭
Like you said the only really unfortunate part about this show is the dang title. I mean sure taken literally it's technically accurate but it just sounds strange.
I’m not sure I can take bawling my eyes out each week. Brilliant show that captures the human condition.

If people pass because of the title that is on them, serves them right to judge a show by it's title alone XD
We watched the first two episodes and are not sure about it. It is a little unsettling how he wants to interact with her knowing how society would judge him. I think he would be wise to let his daughter take the lead with her thereby protecting himself.
I'll watch this for Aoi Yuki but this series is a keeper after I found out the manga concluded and had a live-action drama.
A series dealing gutpunches you say? Oshi no Ko season 2 just finished so I was looking for a replacement to keep the EMOTIONAL DAMAGE coming. Sounds like its a perfect fit!
Remember how Uzuki was controversial
Uzaki-chan?!
Everything is controversial when you don’t gatekeep and people keep moving in from mentally-ill woketown
I also really love this series too

Man this show is depressing so far, amazing though, potentially best new show so far, and man, F THAT MOTHER!

Sry for my english im not native 😅
Where can I watch it?
Crunchyroll
It is a masterpiece show
they should just change it to "My wife Reincarnated as Elementary School Student". It basically same,
"Controversial" you mean by twitter freaks?
Screw them. Even one freak doxxed a YT Chibi Reviewer for having a different opinion about a show. And that freak even disrespected Chibi's family.
Is this have a happy ending? I don't want to watch it risking self deletion at the end like erased again
Really glad they released the 2 episodes together because not gonna lie I was somewhat uncomfortable during the first ep, but by ep 2 I was fully invested. Plus Ao Yuki is back with her 'Spider-so-what?' voice!

my only complain with the series so far is the OP, i feel that it doesnt fit but the ED is heart breaking and the story itself is so good
I liked the anime but i don't think i can get angry over someone reacting because of the title.
I watched it was nice pretty good show but it doesn't feel like its for me it's pretty good so far
Even in fiction, I greatly struggle with victimizing children.
I tried episode 1, but I am dropping this show, mostly because there are too many things to watch.
Understandable. Streaming changed a lot in our lives so much I rarely now go to theaters and the NFL season and MLB playoffs are taking too much of my time. I even skipped Summer anime except Oshi no Ko.
@@artfire28 Same with soccer for me. I only watch the highlights now, if that.
Why does this remind me of Erased all the sudden???
her mom gave me those vibes because she was abusive.
So far I love it. The husband is kind of irritating. I know he’s happy, but WTH he’s going to ruin it
8:30 Too much spoiler, see you later!
They really released it quietly
Not really, they had uploaded two trailers for it on the official CR YT channel.

😢 Too dramatic, too heavy for me....... hopefully, the show will throw in some lighter comedic moment.
