This is the kind of video that shows amazing support for a product, as well as providing insight and wisdom. Ive seen the same videos mentioned and more, except for the rookie who gave up before trying to tweak the unit. Then made my decision, before this video sent it to the moon. Good stuff buddy.
I’ve spent hours on the phone with Holley tech on my sniper unit I had. Sent the TB back as they thought maybe the ecm was bad. Got it back put it on started going through with the initial set up just to have the injectors stuck open and filled my motor and intake up with gas. Ripped it all out and went carb. Now for the K5 build I have to have FI for the rock crawling I like to do and I’m doing everything in my power not to LS swap this so giving ACES a shot.
Before I bought my Aces I heard good and bad about the Sniper, equally. Since I bought the Aces I keep hearing all the bad🤣about the Sniper. Good luck!
@@joaquin0023 Got build a test efi fuel tank to pre-run the engine, And I hope to get it installed in the next few months by may because I still got a few more items to pick up as I have about 96% of the parts and like everything in life it take💰of💸 🤣🤣
For a while i was looking for a simplistic EFI setup for my ZZ4 crate engine running in a '79 malibu 2dr coupe and the throttle body type with the built in injectors and sensors in a minimized package seemed very attractive, especially for the price. But then i also noticed that the ECU was attached directly to the throttle body(others. not Aces), and i said no way, engine heat over time will kill it, think hot soak of a carburator that effects the gas in the fuel bowls. What also adds to the price, you will need a single plane intake manifold for the throttle body to work correctly, granted you could still a dual plane intake, but that will require needing to install a 1/2'' or so spacer between the throttle body and the intake for the open space needed. In short, i know i'll be spending at least twice as much as the ACES EFI, but i've decided to go with the Edelbrock Pro Flo4 sequential EFI system, its wireless, comes complete with everything you'll need, plus distributor and comes with its own tablet, and best of all, the ECU can be mounted remotely away from damaging engine heat. One more detail i must add, just makes me wonder what the longevity of the injectors/sensors that are incased inside the throttle body with prolonged under hood engine heat, even though its made from aluminum, just something to think about as well.
Friend of mine has that Edlebrock EFI. He said he hates it. He finally got it tuned right, and it works great, but he still hates it🤣 He said if he were to do it again he wouldn’t buy it. Those suckers are expensive too. But apparently when the tune gets worked out it works great
I put MSD Atomic on a 1966 Chevy Caprice with a LS1 in it, it was great! I also had a FAST on my 57 Belair with a 355 SBC, it was ok but I had a starting problem later on. I also have a 47 Ford Tudor with a 347 SBF which is getting a ACE efi. I feel your pain brother I hurt my back in 1979 and have suffered ever since. I am now 86 years old.
Wow! Keep on cranking along my friend! I think this will be a cool unit. We’ll see how it self tunes. But I’m prepared to take it to a pro, if I have to. I won’t just give up like so many people do. Thanks for watching!
A nice carb is nearly that much so why not, I’m done with solid rollers cause I ain’t adjusting crap all the time, since it comes with a distributor can you control timing curve with the dash? Wonder if they play well with a NX Maximizer 5
I fully agree my friend! I have gone through hell with my holley sniper setup and have received no help from holley. After many hours on the phone. The two worst things I’ve found is the sensors are garbage. Had to replace several, the IAC was defective out the box. Also the whole EMI/RFI interference issue. From the ecu living inside the main unit. I honestly expected more from Holley……..
The 7” was their holiday deal automatic upgrade. I just missed it. When I was waiting for the distributors to be made after black Friday I was emailed to update my order and I would automatically get a 7” instead of 5”
I’ve been looking into this setup. Just as you did I saw it Facebook and when I googled the killshot. One of the first links brought me to you. I emailed aces inquiring if this unit has transmission controls or if they off a stand alone for a transmission
@@redneckrebuilds777 all work good, but it’s the simple things I want like a separate ECU. I know Holley does too, but at an added cost. Good to see a new company with good product, and not kill you on the price.

Sorry to hear about the pain your going through! Get well soon. I will definitely be following the install. Please do step by step I wanna get this kit myself, but I have never done a carb swap before and not to familiar with carbs.
The Holley Snipers have the ECU on the throttle body. This Aces systems is like the Holley Terminator X Stealth system where you get a throttle body like this one and a Terminator X ECU where it mounts away from the throttle body. The only thing is that the Terminator X is not weatherproof. If you want that you'll have to step up to the Holley HP which is a way more expensive ECU.

It was a black Friday promotion. Spend so much and get a free 7 inch upgrade. I just bought the kill shot for my 70 c10 and I can't wait to install it. It's really a nice kit!
Seems like a good kit. I have the Holley sniper I bought 6 years ago for my Pontiac and it fired right up right after instal, but the issue I have with it is that after the engine warmed up it wont start till it cools off. I’m going to remove it this spring and might give aces a try. Great video 👍
I mentioned the whole separate ECU on a Holley page. They replied with, get a Terminator X. They don’t get it, and don’t care, they’re HOLLEY. All the little guys have them separate. Jegs, Summit, Aces. I shall see, but I think Aces is the best TBI product on the market.
I'm sorry about your health situation,I've had three serious back injuries and one back surgery.I've been on morphine, fentenal and neurontin. That’s a nice set up. I agree about being a bad idea to have ecm on top a hot engine. Great they sent the larger screen too. I’m looking forward to seeing the performance part. Sucks about your pain, hopefully it will get better soon! 👊😎✌️
I'm thinking it's promotion upgrade for the handheld they do promotions regularly assuming to help get units out there. Yeah was wondering about that. The promotion I seen was a pressure sensor with fittings. I to don’t fully trust it, but am curious to see how it does on its own. Crazy how similar engines need different tuning
I know a lot of people had issues with feedback from the distributor and the ecm and back a nightmare I wonder if having the ecm separate would also help with that
