- In this video I go over my controller settings in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3. I show my controller sensitivity, keybinds, and all the other game settings as well. There are no best controller settings and most of this will just come down to personal preference. Let me know what input you play down in the comments below!

if you don't wanna invest in a pro controller, you can use quick swap and then bind jump to LB/L1 so you can jump and aim at the same time. personally i've never really felt like i had an issue doing so with A (if i put the middle of my thumb on A i can use the stick at the same time) but if it's something you're concerned about it's an option
Would this work for crouch/sliding?

@@ThirdEyeGamingV no, i control the camera with right stick and ADS with LT. i'm just saying i don't really have much trouble aiming with right stick and jumping with A the same time (using the xbox controller layout here)
hey jake i have an idea for a series, something like reviewing viewers matches, like someone send you a mach and you review it explaining his errors for educational purpuses. or i don know. either way, love the videos keep it up

Yeah I love this idea. I think that would be a great educational tool for a lot of players. I think he’s done this but not for random players I think it’s been actually looking at other streamers games but it would just be nice to see him do just random every day players like you said. Great idea.
I'm on a standard Series controller but changed jump to LB instead of A, that way I can always keep my right stick aiming (and keeping aim assist active) Then Y is quick weapon to swop between slots 1 and 2. RB is next weapon and B is previous weapon. The sensitivity settings I learned from this video made a huge difference. Thank you!

Does visualize sound effects still hurt your audio, or was that a myth or something they took out?
there is no downside to it as far as im aware.
It no longer hurts your audio, you'll be fine using it.
At one point using visualize sound effects forced your audio to be mono, however around early to mid chapter 2 (I forget the exact season) they made it so that the audio is the exact same as if you had the option off)

I play flipped but I’m starting to shoot and aim with L2 R2, just makes everything easier swapping with L1 R1 in this game. As opposed to playing flipped which has made me inconsistent with my weapon swaps
I prefer any pro custom PS5 controller. The current one I have is a custom Aim PS5 controller with hall effects sticks and have been loving it. And Yes, I did use code Evolve Jake for the discount. Or use your link if there was a better discount then. It did take some getting used to the new sticks. And, I did had to lower my settings for the hall effects sticks. I think I have like 30% ads instead of 42% as normal. But I am at work right now. So I can't get on the game to see my sens. But so far, loving my new controller.
Is Jake using a PS5 Controller on PC or on a PS5?

I use Xbox controller, just ordered an elite series controller to get some back paddles to hopefully allow for more movement in fights without taking my thumb off the aim stick.
I'm a mouse player but might try controller for fun or/and reduce fatigue. The amount of looking around in fortnite tires my arm and wrist

Only issue I'm having is my Elite controller not being fixed need a replacement kit ASAP:( playing with a controller that has stick drift on both of them so my dead zone is at 20 on both.
Thanks for the video Jake. I’m good with my settings but I know this will be useful for lots of people. I use an Elite Series 2 with all 4 back paddles, short thumbsticks and shortest trigger stops. Would recommend the Elite 2 to any Xbox player.

@@Rami-um1nt you’re gonna rate what? Sens is such a personal subjective thing and should literally mean nothing to another person. What I’m on will be horribly quick for one person and terrifyingly slow for another. Sens is the one setting that I’d never advise anyone copying. You gotta work out what works for you.
Debating using a scuff controller 🤔. I’m going to check out the links and I’ll make a decision Friday and going to order one. I’m not sure I’m going to go with scuff just yet though
They are expensive, but i love mine. I've used them forever. I've always used the Impact, but just got the Envision Pro for PC. I'm loving it.
I also play Rocket League. Would using your creator code there benefit you in anyway?
It should. The creator code works with anything on the Epic Game's launcher.
The only setting I'm surprised about is the DirectX 12. I have a pretty good computer but it stutters so much on DX12 so I end up using low performance mode. I will try out your settings but I'm not sure if the view distance will affect me seeing enemies from super far away. Thanks for the videos as always
view distance does not effect how far away you can see enemies. On DX12 you need view distance on low to remove grass and effects like that. The main disadvantage is seeing loot at certain ranges you will just see like a blue item but what item it is wont show until youre close enough
I use a PS5 DualSense controller with an Inferno KontrolFreek and I’m currently learning claw.
I use a dualsense edge for ps5.. Debating on a controller with 4 back paddles... But the edge is great... I've seen people with auto pickup on and some off, what are some pros and cons for this in zero build?
I'm not anywhere near as good as Jake but I like it for early game hot drops when there's a lot of other people and your only concern is getting guns fast. If you also have the slot preferences on, it'll sort of auto sort everything you pick up too. Also just another thing you don't have to take your left thumb off the stick for.

Quick weapon has worked great for me personally. I use a normal ps5 controller.
Is there a benefit for scroll wheel if you’re in zero build annd already use quick weapon swap, slot 2.
There’s not a huge benefit if you’re only playing zero build but I’ve gotten so used to using the scroll wheel for close range encounters that I couldn’t play without it even in zero build it’s very nice having a dedicated shotgun button no matter what you are doing

You can use Jake's settings as a starting point. But you'll want to adjust it based on what is comfortable to yourself. I would suggest taking the time to test in creative. Go through building, aim, or whatever to get better acclimated. It will take time, so don't get frustrated. Practice, practice, practice.

@@fnafassist Its hard for me to answer without seeing what you are OR aren't doing. Just got to get to the point where it seems okay, but not quite there. Then you have to play with it for a while. Fine tune. Keep with it. Once you have it...probably takes about a week or so (depending on how much you play) to mentally adjust to changes.
I had to change and test for a long time. Gotta be patient. But it's worth the effort.

Any reason for the 1080p and capped at 240 FPS? I have a PC that is way worse than yours and get a smooth and consistent 360 FPS on 1440p. But maybe there is some reason why that I don’t know of.
