This was one of my favourite songs in 1972 when I was 14. I learnt the words to it in Disco 45 magazine, and can still sing along to it now with Lindisfarne watching this!
Yes! The voices sound as though they might be horribly out of tune if heard individually, but put them all together and the result is brilliant. No-one else sounds like Lindisfarne.
You had to be at school when this came out! When Lady Eleanor appeared with that haunting intro we were blown away, even though we can’t dig the lyrics… even now!
Hey, Mr Dreamseller, where have you been? Tell me, have you dreams I can see? I came along, just to bring you this song Can you spare one dream for me? You won't have met me, and you'll soon forget So don't mind me tugging at your sleeve I'm asking you if I can fix a rendezvous For your dreams are all I believe Meet me on the corner when the lights are coming on And I'll be there, I promise I'll be there Down the empty streets we'll disappear until the dawn If you have dreams enough to share Lay down your bundles of rags and reminders And spread your wares on the ground Well, I've got time, if you deal in rhyme I'm just hanging around Meet me on the corner when the lights are coming on And I'll be there, I promise I'll be there Down the empty streets we'll disappear until the dawn If you have dreams enough to share Hey, Mr Dreamseller, where have you been? Wow. Can you imagine Genesis coming on right after this, as they did many times. Like Bob Ross introducing you to Monet. Here’s a quaint world, NOW HERES THE UNIVERSE.
Fantastic live performance of a great song!❤️

Man. I've lived in London for nearly 40 years. Homesick listening to this x
Don’t think you would like London now.
Fantastic 😊
Enjoy this! In 45 years the world is going to be different place, with the Internet, mobile phones, and a pandemic.
I was 12……brilliant!…..I’m 64 now……still remember this
I was there that night. Unforgettable. Thanks for posting this, mate.
That harmony! Live!! Brilliant. That's just great musicians doing their thing.
Indeed
One of the great 3-man harmony units of all time. Rough as you like, but grabs you right there.

I was born in 1972 and I really appreciate 70's music, especially Lindisfarne.
I am so glad I got to see them twice , once in the 70's and again in the early 90's. Great band.
Intersting fact...exactly the same chords as don't look back in anger by oasis!

Meet me on the corner when the lights are coming on

Down the empty streets we'll disappear until the dawn
If you have dreams enough to share
Lay down your bundles of rags and reminders
And spread your wares on the ground
Well, I've got time, if you deal in rhyme
I'm just hanging around
Meet me on the corner when the lights are coming on

Hmmm, I listen to a lot of Lindisfarne, nothing by Genesis or their drummer.
Genesis were wankers
Good to see Bob Carolgees has found himself an alternative career.

@@trevorford9432 There used to be a football player called Trevor Ford who played for Cardiff City….he was my mum’s hero🤣!!
Imagine that Mark Knopfler could have been somewhere in the audience!
