Ball is my absolute favorite brand. They're crazy underrated. I've had my 1 "entry" level Ball for 4 years now. I wanted 1 since day 1 of wearing a watch. I just wish, WISH, I could afford another. Especially a GMT model since I'm a truck driver. I love the history of Ball. I love the quality and style. And most of my driving is at night so the tritium is PERFECT for me. Those things are the reason my Ball is on my wrist far more than it's not. Mine has got scratches all over from heavy wear. The ONLY thing I hate is the butterfly clasp. I actually use a Long Island Watch bracelet that actually fits my "Ducks Unlimited" fireman Ball. It was the only model I could afford unfortunately. But one of my favorite animals are ducks and I like Ducks Unlimited. So it worked out well. Congratulations on the beautiful watch. Wear it proudly. God bless
You gotta show the wrist presence, its a must in videos nowadays. I appreciate the review, but you gotta do a third showing the wrist and watch, so the rest of us can measure it in our heads according to our own sizes. Once again, thanks the video.
I got this, just this evening. Black face with steel bezel. My wrist is 6.7 inches. This watch aside from being a stunner does not wear big nor thick. So, please do not let those party poopers make you think otherwise. It's a great watch. Better than my Tudor bb 41mm gmt. My Ball is 51 out of 1000. No kidding. Greetings from Malaysia.
Just picked up this watch from an AD with a discount coupon. Total cost $3100 out the door. I own several "high end" watches. Including multiple GS, Omega, Rolex, as well as an AP RO, Patek Annual, Breguet, Glasshutte and others. Finding it hard to see how some of these watches cost 30x-40x more than this one. Even my less expensive ones are 2x-4x more. I have been very impressed so far and if it holds up like I expect, I am sure that I will become a dedicated Baller in the future.
Even if you do it yourself the bracelet has screws that you can easily remove with a glasses screwdriver. The only screws I had trouble with and continue to have trouble with or the ones attaching the bracelet to the watch never could get those out; I was going to put a NATO band on it but did end up liking the bracelet so no big deal. It literally took less than 10 minute to size the bracelet to my wrist, which is approximately 7 inches. The half links also helped make the bracelet fit perfectly.
I just purchased the Ball EOD very similar in specs to your watch. I scuba dive so prior to buying the watch, I reached out to Ball in Switzerland, inquiring if the watch could be used for diving as it did not have ISO specifications listed. A representative got back to me and stated that any Ball watch that had 200 m of water, resistance or more could be used for actual scuba diving provided that one pay attention to securing the crown as per the specifications of the given watch.
Excellent video - thank you! Just pulled the trigger on the black Outlier with black ceramic bezel. Amazing timepiece for the price. Went with the ceramic bezel after seeing how much brighter the bezel lume is on ceramic.
I really like this watch. Haven't purchased a luxury watch in years since moving to garmin smartwatches years ago but would consider dropping the coin on this one. I've owned rolex's, omega's, sinn, fortis brands and always admired Ball but never cared for their designs. I like this one a lot. An heirloom quality timepiece.
Ball...such an underrated brand and hits far far far above it's weight! Phenomenal time piece. Wish they had a different clasp or butterfly with micro adjustment. There are some out there. Great video. Keep them coming.
I have the BALL Engineer Hydrocarbon Racer Chronograph bought it 9 months ago and I was really surprised to see that it was more accurate than my Tudor and more accurate than my Breitling and the Lume lasts all night. That GMT is on my Radar.
Mr Grantberg is spot on about this watch. I should know. I have 3 Ball watches now. This gmt REALLY wears well. The specified weight is also deceiving. It wears lighter than 180gm. It could be because of the quality of the 904L steel. It sure beats the Tudor gmt hands down.
I appreciate your 2 reviews on this Ball GMT. I'm thinking of buying the white dialed version. Are there any brushed finishes on it (case/bracelet bracelet)?
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it! Just dont understand why there are no micro adjustments on the bracelet. I'd hate to have this watch not furm on my arm. That is why im hesitant!
The first time I saw this watch I immediately thought to order one. Then I took a closer look and man, why did they decide to mount the bracelet using those screws through the side of the case. Nobody does that anymore. That and the clasp were deal breakers for me. What a shame, the watch looks great from a top view, but those holes and the clasp 😢😢😢 what were they thinking. Thanks for the video though.
@@BPTVch Aesthetics is personal, and 100% yours. However functionally screws are safer. You must not be aware of stories where Rolex Submariner spring bar pops while diving or swimming. Experts say every popular lake or beach, there's a number of Rolexes and other watches on the bottom So yes the risk is there, no one says it happens all the time. But would you be happy if there's a 1% chance your 10K rolex falls off?
@@MegaThucydidesThis conversation is turning interesting. You are now talking about dive watches which this watch is not. The first tell is the horrible clasp they chose. Not having an expandable clasp is the first tell this watch is not meant for diving. Now I certainly don’t know about the missing Rolex you are talking about but get that it may be true. I own about a dozen watches and never leave my house without a watch on my wrist. I have never had a watch fall off my wrist and therefore know that it is an extremely rare accident. I do understand it is a personal opinion.
@@BPTVch Fair points. I too never had any spring bars fail, but I acknowledge screws are a tad more secure. Could be 5% more secure, or 0.5%, who knows A GMT, or any other watch, with a diver style case and similar water resistance, invites itself to be used for swimming or scuba diving. Do agree that the clasp is not functional, but other factors point to the Ball watch being water friendly
I own this watch since last December, unfortunately, I am not lucky as you are my been running fast about eight seconds per day, got serviced, and is running slow about three seconds per day the case back on this watch is made out of magnetic steel. It’s not stainless steel 904L very disappointed. beat error is getting up .6 ms.
People complained because you didn't have the measurements of the watch? Those people are too lazy to look it up themselves. Ball makes a great watch. Almost done talking myself into purchasing my second.

Where is AD my friend?
AZ Fine Time has them under 3k out the door. Thinking about pulling the trigger.
How is the bracelet? Were you able to comfortably size it to your wrist?
I gave my wrist measurements to my AD, and he sent it to me with the necessary links removed.

That watch is gorgeous! I have a BALL worldtime, GMT, and diver 300m water resistance, and it is fenomenal.
said you were not a Watch reviewer, but this was an absolutely brilliant review
The build quality is superb.
Can’t wait for mine. It’s even better than I expected. Do a third please showing it on wrist.
Yeah, and a little bit away from camera to see the actual size

That’s because it uses radioactive tubes that run out and you need a new dial.
Would have liked to see a wrist shot. It's 40mm case with a 42mm bezel so difficult to assume how it wears.
That's a hot looking watch. That watch will draw quite a bit of attention to the Ball name.
Curious if you have an update on the experience with this watch? Everything still good, movement running fine, etc? Thanks

Great informative no-nonsense video. On my shopping list. Blue dial though.
@@dickgrantberg well I'm over the pond in the UK. Best wishes for your Thanksgiving.
Wished there was a Ball AD near my place.
How glossy black is the dial in real life compared to eg a Rolex or other glossy black dialed watches or is it more matte?

I agree. I am also hesitant. The Aqua Terra has the same bracelet, and it costs over $6,000.

Screws are more secure than springbars for attaching bracelet to the case. Don't know why that's a negative for you

Man. Design is really nice but too many polished bits for a tool watch. And damn Ball step up the clasps. They are so close.
what is the diameter of the crystal? will a rolex explorer screen protect fit?

I love the aesthetic of this watch, it is a shame it is so thick, at nearly 14mm. 😊
it's a beauty
Lol. The watch is missing the halflinks. Good review.
power reserve?? 80hrs?
micro gas tube is T100 or T25 ?
Nowadays, so much designs of watches are almost alike yet looking good !
How can you do a review on a watch with tritium (which would be a major selling point for this watch) and not provide a line shot. Ugh.

NOT EVEN A SINGLE WRIST SHOT?!
