Amazing the guy with the front end loader didn't lose his leg. Was he really trying to hold down that piece of wood with his foot? What poor load distribution. Both rigs were to far to the right and had their booms hanging out as well. Real brain trust working here.
Looks like they swung the crane boom to the right to shift weight off the corner of the barge that was grounded, and extended the telehandler boom to shift weight to the offshore end. Someone didn't foresee how things would go once she was afloat...
some people should not be allowed nice things..... there is a reason the barge is grounded on the right rear corner.. but it wasn't clear to the local idiots
You could see the list before it was pushed off the rocks. Surely someone with any knowledge would have said, this is on the rocks this side, maybee we should reposition or ballast the opposite side?
I'm amazed at the company's management that would put people in charge of millions of dollars worth of equipment who don't know they should stow the boom on the Manitou ,suck in the boom on the front crane and have the machine running with an operator ready to swing his book as counter ballast ,just amazing .
Corrcct, the C of G was far too high, the machine boom should have been let down and the fixed crane on the barge was swung out to the starboard side which was definatly not helping either!
why the heck would they have the boom in the air that makes it top heavy one of our workers dropped one of ours from our semi because he left the boom up
Good place for it. Manitou is f'ing garbage. Everything is crammed into half the space it should be, batteries are almost impossible to get at unless you have it swung sideways (good luck boosting it when it's cold if it doesn't have jumper studs), heater won't keep the cab warm/windows clear when it's colder than -5C and there isn't a hope in hell getting it to start at 0C unless you install a block heater (No intake air heater). The whole machine is just poor engineering and design.
Good that no one got hurt (as far as I could), but that was just stupid... From the start you could see that it wasn't properly balanced, there goes good money...
Hope the moron who hung the boom out to the side [without compensating in any way] was pleased with himself. Could see it was going over before they un-beached it.
All this could be avoided if someone was inside the manitou and just adjust the weight distribution and put that f... arm down ... the manitou as a machine is not balance weigth sistem but he is equiped with hidro s just for that if you have a load and you ride a sloppy road you will not ditch it becose you cand adjust all the sistem to go right or left. the problem is the boom in the upper right corner , he put more weight on the right side of the barge. guilt is on the gui who pushed the barge who did not observe the disbalance in the force ...
"High winds, severe swell, and a freak wave on top of an iceberg tsunami added up to an unforeseeable irrecoverable freakish situation." Yup, so the report about the accident goes ;)

the reason it flipped is that the crane on the barge was all the way to the right when it should have been centered over the barge

I'm just amazed at how clear that water is.
was
hit in youtube ''Paxos island''' Greece....beach with balls....
Because of cold. 100m visibility
How could they NOT see this happen?
Yep, that hand clapping with the "yay!" says it all 👍👍

"Yaaaayy!" clap-clap-clap-clap-clap
lol!
I love the lady that celebrates at 2:24 :)

Soo lets see the loads not centered (and on the same side as the barge boom ) and the barge boom is hanging out on the wrong side, wow true genius.
Alguien sabe de cuanto era la barcaza y cuanto pesaba la grua?????? please
Well at least the water is clear so they can fin their equipment easily lol.
Shouldn't of gone far.
Next time ,haul only one machine at a time !
And don't forget to low and retract the boom too !!
Nothing can resist to this beautiful water....
Have to say - barge is designed for a 2 tonne car max - not a 10 tonne crane and 1 tonne of fuel (let alone out of balance).
What size fish were you going to catch with that thing?
Corrcct, the C of G was far too high, the machine boom should have been let down and the fixed crane on the barge was swung out to the starboard side which was definatly not helping either!
What was wrong with the slipway?
it sucks because the manitou felt on the wrong side in the water...the engine is located at the right side...that means underwater...mrt2540?
Why is the yellow crane pointing starboard to begin with?
Looks like it didn’t help
Wow, the water is really clean there, except for a turned over and half submerged fork truck thingy.....
Perfect example of why you don't cut corners.
That water is beautifull!!!!!!
almost like their trying to capsize, strategically placed crane and raised boom for max effect
What is this town called?
why the heck would they have the boom in the air that makes it top heavy one of our workers dropped one of ours from our semi because he left the boom up
That water was so clear I saw a fish swim by
Pacen el dato, en donde estudiaron.
What were they even trying to do? What was the digger with the plank of wood doing?
are there arabic voice in this video???
I can see about 10 things that are stupid...where do I start?
Probably the last telehandler they are moving?

Plus - really wet and salty inside.
Its fresh water.
No it isn't. Don't be so insidious, Insidious - I see through you just like the salt water in that Greenlandic fiord there.
Im not being insidious. Stop blowing my mind, blohmymind.
nicely done
Some very inexperienced people failed to understand simple weight/balance equations. Bring out the engineers!
B2, B3, B4 and sunk.
Was probably a little too heavy for the barge.
And who the Manitou in the happy hunting ground has moved?
A VOLVO. ^ ^
Dude that Crane went down faster than the Titanic did
What a radical way to wash a Manitou...
How very tragic.
Well now I know where my next holiday is!
The guy on the cell phone was calling because the delivery is now behind schedule.
Did anyone else smile when it slowly tipped?
Good that no one got hurt (as far as I could), but that was just stupid... From the start you could see that it wasn't properly balanced, there goes good money...
They where close enough to drop the ramps and just drive it off instead off writing the whole brand new machine off :(
They have the boom half raised no wonder it flipped.
0:55 that clown by the forks is REALY in harms way!
1:52 why is the barge boom hanging over the side and the Manitou boom still up?
@baiuter se tu sapessi quante volte succede che i manitou finiscono nell'acqua!!!
Check egain stability barge, and pleace your look boom crane not down. ...
Hope the moron who hung the boom out to the side [without compensating in any way] was pleased with himself.
Could see it was going over before they un-beached it.
Hvorfor "Thank you" Onkel Bat?
Sucks for he guy that jumped off in the freezing water, and the owner of the machine.
Is that water photo shopped :O
Where is this place?
Kollussuaq north westgreenland
just needed a banjo playing on shore.awesome effot
I was thinking to myself dam thats clean water, not anymore .
Well, its definitely the most beautiful place I've ever seen an accident.
water looks nice
water looks gr8!
And the word TWINKY MOBILE comes to mind
What caused the rollover was a 15t machine not sitting center on the barge the weight would have rolled it anyway.
I don't think warranty is gonna cover that...
that is some clear water
That WAS a £200,000 telehandler......
great job!!!
Sometimes accidents happens due to carelessness. So not in this case.
It is more a kind of miscalculation. Pity.
Yes, really. It looks so fresh.
Damn that water is clear

uh oh spaghettios
The dude in the middle was like fuck this I'm out
WATER SO CLEAN
That's one expensive movement to another island!
That Manitou is about 12'000kg
The crane booms were too high- that's what caused the roll over. Somebody did not know what they were doing!
Oh dear !!
"High winds, severe swell, and a freak wave on top of an iceberg tsunami added up to an unforeseeable irrecoverable freakish situation."
Yup, so the report about the accident goes ;)
who tugs that much with that little of a tug... Cmon People.
I thought it was going to fall back down and crush the guy who jumped in
That scene was totally preventable !!
What a crying shame !!
That clear water makes me thirsty!

piękna czysta woda
Think people living on an island would know something about boats
wonder if they got the sack....
that looks cold wouldent it of been better to have the arm down on the Manitou
Like a good neighbor state farm is there
At what point did they think this was a good idea?
bombastic..
Words are not enought to say something about these guys... Hope I never work with them.
shit happens bro, welcome to the real world, if your scared you wont get very far in life
I seen this show its called will it float .. not
Congratulations from Poland.
2:23 oh a manitou just got sunk..... YAAAAAAAAAAAY
That shit looks cold..
It seemed like a genius idea at the time.
That too!!!!
Should asking for the insurance now!!!!!
Smooth move.
I use to build those!!
Stupid is what stupid does…..
