Very creative and heavy, this dude has some serious chops and a little of Bonzo and Buddy, Keep hitting the traps.

    snare is a powertone.
i had a wood dynasonic, but the powertone is much easier to work with.
check out my other videos..i have another vintage rogers and ludwigs.

What do you mean easier to work with? You have to understrand the design concepts behind the Dynasonic and once you do and learn how to work it is one of the best snare drums ever made.

Bob D,--- I like the way you play. The drums sound terrific also. I also agree with your comment about your preference for Powertone over Dyna-Sonic. I had two Dyna-Sonics over the years and never really enjoyed them. Thanks!

Agree on Dynasonic snares..I currently own a 5 x 14" COB Dynasonic (early 70's Fullerton, script badge) and over the years I just cannot get that thing to sound good to my ear. Also had a wood-shell Dyna same size was not that impressed with it but oh how I regret selling it the originals have just gone through the roof in price. Have not checked out the re-issue wood shell Dynas yet, though.

Why, oh why did i sell my vintage Rogers kit ? It was i believe, a 1969-70 3 piece in piano black finish, with script logos.. I'm Ludwig man, but i still wish i had my Rogers kit..

I've owned and sold just about every drum brand except Rogers, for whatever reason. And after listening to these vintage Rogers demos, I realize what I've been missing out on, these are phenomenal drums, always knew the hardware was sturdy on Rogers, the sound is unreal.

Almost no Rogers drums of this era for sale. The big "R's" don't count. Always had the best hardware but $600.00 was a whole lot of money back then. I will always be a Slingerland man however but what great drums we used to make in our once great country. DW's don't count either if you ask me. To clinical of a sound. Just my humble opinion.

The big "R's" sucked. CBS ruined Rogers and Fender and it didn't take long for the buying public figure it out. A 60's era Rogers drumset were the best. Like the round badge Gretsch drums at the time. And also Slingerland and Ludwig.

To benthruit: I agree with your comment about DWDrums. I've never heard any warmth in them anytime I've heard them played. Even recordings or videos of Joe Morello (whom I have the upmost respect for), playing DW's do not compare to sound he got from his Ludwig drums. I can't warm up to DW drums. I do play 60's Gretsch round badge and I prefer that sound.
