When both of these men talk, i listen. Chris is one of the strongest men ever to walk this planet and s wealth of knowledge. I have been watching and listening to him for years as a powerlifter. But, as a carnivore, i find that i can still train for high reps as well as i always could eating carbs. Maybe because I'm fully fat adapted? Plus, my top end strength keeps going up too. So the carbs are necessary is a hard sell for me. But I'm still watching and listening...

For real, Chris really helped me 👍
      He's such a great resource.
I'm on carnivore now and am loving it. I'm not a powerlifter like Chris, I have different goals than him, but definitely concerned with resistance training. Think I'll bug him about carnivore 🥩

    • @marknasia5293

agreed, I have more strength will less effort working out, run faster, etc been full carnivore for over year. didn't understand what he was saying about "being flat, on carnivore" clearly that is someone that tried it as a diet, and didn't understand it will take the liver 30-90 days to adapt to fat for the creation of carbs. every surgeon that does gall bladder removal tell their patients the same, the live takes time to adapt. when I was in month 7, on carnivore, that is when I was documenting my workouts for that time and noticed huge gains, in strength and duration. my guess is, someone doing carnivore for only 3 months is not really fully adjusting to producing ketones permanently. I even have cheat days about 2 times a month (an ice cream or frozen yogurt) and I can tell two days later I have less energy and strength in my workouts. I can do more now, than I could when I was 18-42 while in the military, now 53M

DOMs are simple. You have to go further than your body is use too. Therefore it’s an indicator of progressive overload being achieved. I don’t agree that it’s not an indicator bc it absolutely is. That doesn’t mean it has to be severe. A little soreness is good and often goes away before you retrain same muscle groups. Minimize fatigue to where you can hit core muscle groups twice a week at least for maximum growth.

So to explain the concept for anyone unfamiliar, nucleus overload training was a term coined by Team3dAlpha and proposed as a method of training meant to supplement regular training. The idea is that the number of satellite cells in a muscle can be increased with higher training frequency and volume, therefore leading to larger overall growth potential.
The basic nucleus overload program is to select one muscle group you struggle to grow, and every day to do a safe, high rep, low fatigue exercise for several sets with the focus of getting a good pump. This is in addition to regular training, not a replacement. After at least a month you should take a week off from training the muscle entirely and then resume regular training with hopefully accelerated gains.
The concept was created from observations of people who did a lot of muscle specific training before bodybuilding growing much faster when they started bodybuilding. Guys who wrestled before lifting weights having really fast growing traps, bikers growing giant quads really fast, guys who just did a bunch of pushups at home getting crazy chest gains once they started hitting the gym. I think all this is entirely true, and it does seem related to intramuscular cell saturation. Whether someone can actually increase cell saturation meaningfully on the type of nucleus overload training program prescribed by Team3dAlpha idk, but for someone with a really stubborn muscle group it's probably a pretty good thing to try.

So basically cycling supplements is an abstract, arbitrary thing? Lol
