I’m a ram guy but most all chevys look so damn good lowered. 😮 cat eye, all 90s trucks, 07+, brand new body style, duallys, I could go on. They all look so good lowered.
I remember when someone would say they had a 3/5 or a 4/6 drop you were that low or even lower and not able to run anything larger than an 28" tire without C notching the rear. Now you can do a 4/7 to make it level, and not need to C notch. lol
hello i have a 2013 gmc 4x4 was looking at McGaughy 5/7 drop but the web site says it is for a 2wd truck i was wonding if you have ever done one or some direction. thank you
It will not work on 4x4s because the cv axle hits the spindle in the front….I have run into that a few times….IHC makes a kit that will work with 4x4s because it keeps stock spindles and changes control arms
How much do you charge for a job like this? I've got a 2014 im currently looking to lower. Ive gotten a couple of estimates already. One guy wants $900 for the kit and $1500 for labor. Another place told me it would cost me 10 hours of labor at $115 am hour plus the cost of whatever lowering kit i decided to go with. In your opinion, Are these reasonable prices?
On the McGaughy flip kit they do not…..but most kits you do have to cut those off and the flip kit has new mounts for the wheel speed sensor wire and brakeline
Look at your control arms….if they are silver then they are aluminum…..if they are steel and you see welds on them then they are stamped steel….if they look like the ones on the truck in this video then they are cast steel
@@lowerclassfab431 oh i see, seems pretty ruff thanks for letting me know , yea i think i will go for a smaller tire, i just hate ruber band tires , i like a little bit of tire sidewall .
Coming from someone who has daily driven a 2500 chevy on 37s for last 2 years I’d much rather climb into a lowered truck everyday…it’s a lot easier on my old knees than jumping outta that thing everyday

The way your kid chucked up the dueces ✌️ 😂😂 that was gangster. Backing with confidence. Good to know I can go lower with out c notching
Man , you did a great job on the truck and on this video

Just bought a project 14 Silverado and planning on going this route sweet video
McGaughy’s is pronounced Muh-Goy’s for future reference. Great looking truck. I have a black on black 2016 with a 4/7 drop. 😎
Truck looks great . Awesome video . I'm going to do a drop on a 2015 Sierra regular cab short bed . I've always liked McGaughy products .
nice bruh love your attention to detail.
Keep them coming!
howd you get the driver side leaf spring bolt in without dropping the tank?
Excelente 👍👍👍

Could you fit 24’ wheels with this 4/7 drop but with a thinner tire without rubbing or having to cut anything?
Yes check out this video…we put 24s on it at end of video

Do the little ears that hold the hard brake line for the rear end have to be cut off? Or does the flip kit not interfere with them?
Im talking about the little tabs that are welded on the rear end where the cradles go
On the McGaughy flip kit they do not…..but most kits you do have to cut those off and the flip kit has new mounts for the wheel speed sensor wire and brakeline
where can i find the info on what control arm i have on my 2014.

Seen this guy before in los chikos
How Bad was the rubing on those tires ? Was it really bad or drivable ? , i like that drop and that tire size
It rubbed front and rear some but he’s still driving it to this day as is
@@lowerclassfab431 so im guessing its driveable , was the rubing on the top fenders or just the wheel well plastic ?
@@elcompatavo9365 was rubbing the firewall area part of inner fenders when you turn and would rub the bottom of bed wheeltubs on big dips

What size shocks for a 6” back drop
Could I get the link to where you got this kit ?
www.summitracing.com/parts/MMC-34070/applications
This is the kit for the cast steel control arms….if your truck has stamped steel or aluminum arms you will need a different kit
Do you need a 2 pc drive shaft if you’re at a 7 in the rear??
No the 1 piece is just fine
I have a 2018 sierra crew cab, just making sure it’s not required.
Hopefully I can’t fit my 24s on 305s without having to do nothing crazy
Did you need the shocks to install?
Yes factory shocks are way to long
So you don’t need a c notch for a 4/7 drop?
No…you might get some bottoming out on very big dips but 99% of time you will be good
Where is your shop located?
Baxley Ga
Love the channel bro. I would definitely order a hoody if u ever make one that says lower class fab.
Any idea what rims those are?
They are stock wheels on this truck….it’s like a “blackout” edition or something along those lines….comes stock with blacked out grille and stripes
It’s the rally edition.
What size bed is this?
5.5ft
@@lowerclassfab431 do you know if the kit would work fine with a 6.5' bed?
@@Pugsandhugs94 yes it will work fine
Is this a 4wd?
No but I have lowered a few 4x4s the same way….just need to make sure the kit you buy includes spindles that will work with a 4x4
Bro ive been looking for a video to see how this things get done and you the first one that shows and explains everything 💯💯💯🦾
What’s the tire size?
285/45-22 I believe
4x4?
This truck is a 2wd but they make kits for 4x4

That's why I went from lifted to a 3/5. So much easier. I slide into the truck now.😂
