Aiden doesn’t understand how lucky he is. I remember growing up just watching my dad and uncle working on stuff but I never had the opportunity like you’re giving him. I’m genuinely jealous. You’re doing an amazing job raising those kids! Keep it up!!!!!!!
Does Dalton have a vehicle? If so, can we get a fund going for him to mod his vehicle too? Nothing is worse then having a friend that gets everything and you don't. No hate towards shawn or Aiden, he probably deserves everything he gets and its the benefit of having Shawn as your father . I put a McGaughys lowering kit on my Silverado about 8 years ago. It’s held up great over the years. I like it better than the bell tech ones I’ve used.
I love that they are teaching the boys how to work on stuff, and letting them figure stuff out, the same way the rest of us had to. With that being said, I'm glad it wasn't a c notch, because Shawn even said he had never done one. You never cut the frame first, you install the c notch, weld everything you can, then cut out the frame in the middle. That keeps the format right. All it takes is to watch 3 episodes of Texas metal, and you see how it is done. Oh, I love the wheels on Aidens truck, they are sick looking

Bro, I have a 21 year old son and have had a ton of fun laughing while teaching him. He is a great tig welder and builds $ 100-$500,000 boats at cape fear catamarans now. Great vids.

I'm not sure if any of you have noticed but Aiden also paints his toenails. Clearly this young man looks up to his dad. This isn't sarcasm or a dig, Id say his dad is clearly his role model.
Shawn is nervous of using a coil spring compressor but heated front coils just like I always did and never said $hit about blowing up a shock with the torch! That $hit still haunts me!!! I blew a few up back in my day! We used hunks of 4x4 under the frame to level out the ride heights while the spring cooled 🤦♂️
yea that's the Dumb Way to Lower .... Cutting a round off of the spring keeps the Spring strong unlike heating weakens the metal wind up with unpredictable ride and height.

Your O'Reilly comment is funny to me. I quit using them years ago. I bought a battery from Checkers before they were bought out by O Reilly and spent the extra on longer replacement battery. My car ate 1 about every 12-18months. So when battery was dead went into O'Reilly with receipt and everything expecting new free or for next to nothing battery. Only to be told they quit honoring checker warranty less than a month before I went in. I don't think I have ever been back.
You guys lower yours and we raised ours lol. I was a baby when my mom and dad built his first truck from the ground up. Oh man it was beautiful. Sounded amazing too. I actually have pictures of my brother and I chilling in the back of dads truck out in the woods at a local mud hole that everyone with big trucks went too.

I wanted a 93 Typhoon, but I couldn't find one close so I bought a new 93 GMC Jimmy and lowered that bitch in hopes it would fill the void. Find center of axle at the lowest point"as far low as it will go" install c-notch and weld all you can then cut middle of notch out and everything will stay in place. No sage no warp or twist in the frame. But this has only been my experience I'm not sayn it's worked for everyone but it has for me several times.. just my 2 cents, not that it counts or even right but it's always worked for me.

Imagine being mechanics and able to work on your own cars and lower it when you feel like it like these guys. Doing it themselves probably saved them thousands.

I miss having a lowered truck. Last one was a static (7" front/8" rear) dropped '99 Dakota sport on 22's. It sadly got killed when a county cop rear ended me and bent the hell out of the frame.

My 09 is 8" over stock and I love it. Never lowered a truck but it does look good

Janky AZZ! LOL! been there done that. Lowering blocks in the rear and dropped the torsion bars on my buddies Isuzu Truck in Highschool 1990-ish. Never did the heated springs thing!! I had a bright red 84 Chevy short bed that was dropped 3/5", roller cam, big heads and way too much spray for a 16 yr old. Wadded it up in the rain, the one time I wasn't driving like an idiot. Beautiful truck that nearly killed my girlfriend and I when I lost the ass end coming out of a curve and got t boned by a ford thunderbird who was going 60 in a 30. My now wife would have died if she had been on the passenger side, fortunately she was sitting next to me in the middle. I am now disabled from a work injury and not able to afford to build another one, but damn I miss that old truck. The girl I almost killed our senior year of HS I married, that was more than 19 years ago.
Heat up the inner fenders with a heat gun and push them up with a hammer or bat. Iv done it so many times. It really works
