Drunk Elephant is the emperor's clothes despite I used to use their oil religiously and I'm so glad I found a replacement... and skin care is my thing. I just hope others smarten up and understand there are great products out there that don't break the bank but that are just as effective.

It must be weird to be EM Cosmetics (who came out with a lip formula like the Tarte/Hourglass/Flower sticks earlier, if not first) to see so much buzz and hype around the newer versions of essentially the same product. The tinted Lip Cushions by EM Cosmetics are my favorite lip formula of all time. I own all but Faded Clementine (because I don't look good in orange).
I totally agree that the Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Bronzer, Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter, and Covergirl Clean Fresh Yummy Lip Gloss are the best products of 2023. I just got the Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Bronzer from Ulta but it's a pain in the butt with the sticker or plastic to open it but I love it. I don't use it as a cream bronzer but as a powder bronzer. Elf's Perfect 10 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in I Need A Nude mixed with Covergirl's Clean Fresh Eyeshadow Palette in Mellow Mauve is so pretty when you combined those two products.
Have you tried the InnBeauty Project Lip Glazes? I’m OBSESSED. I have them in my bag, at my desk, in my car, in my bathroom…NYX tried to dupe them with their Fat Oil or whatever they’re called. 😹

Yes, you are right that the Cover Girl Yummy Lip Oil pricing is all over the map. Personally, I usually never buy anything cosmetic as a grocery store like Kroger; and when I should at CVS, I maximize the coupon usage so that I get the most bang for my buck there. It's the only way to get reasonably consistent pricing on cosmetics.
the honey glow moisturizer is great but their cleanser destroyed my skin (I think it was the ginger extract because there's another product they have with ginger extract that also makes my face hurt)
I actually prefer the covergirl yummy gloss over the Milani lip oil. I feel the milani lip oil doesn’t give me any color payoff and I have to reapply immediately. I still like it but the covergirl just works so much better for me personally

That is lower salicylic acid in the Drunk Elephant, but, fun fact, it is only approved to use up to 2% in products without a prescription! That’s why even when the BHA level looks low, it may be the maximum! (The DR does have 1% though)
I have a terrible soft spot for drunk elephant products. They’re overpriced, the founder is rude, and the “suspicious 6” idea is pretty much just fear mongering but their products do wonders for my skin 😫. Some products have obvious dupes that are just as good but some just don’t compare.
I've used the farmacy mask since it came in a boxy charm 100 years ago 😂. I don't like the gissue (?) Hair oil and I have thick thick, coarse, dry hair.
Agreed. Plus banana boat is a pretty reputable brand, considering alot of their products are sold in Australia. Alot of those expensive, new sunscreens from all these new skincare brands aren't sold here due to the rigorous testing and application process for spf claims (sunscreen is a regulated therapeutic good here). Only cosmetic items with spf under a certain strength can be sold without this process. I really wanted the supergoop sunscreen but now I'm quite sceptical of it actually working since it can't even meet our regulations. It's also much more risky to be using ineffective spf here since skin cancer is a massive problem.

In my personal opinion…..I feel like all skincare should be 100% free to buy, but makeup should be paid for however at an affordable cost. The reason…..nobody truly needs makeup, we’re all beautiful even without makeup however there’s nothing wrong with playing around with new products, because makeup is an art form….Skincare on the other hand, we all wanna have clear and beautiful skin and it’s something that we actually do need well at least most of it.
Well not having "clear and beautiful" skin isn't a health hazard. Acne sucks, but it's not determinal to your health or killing you. If you're talking about actual skin ailments that impact everyday life, I see where you're coming from but if not, then this is just shallow lol no one is owed clear skin and genetics play a big role in that anyway.

It depends on how much product you get. If you get 3oz/88ml at the least it's decently affordable unless you are really struggling financially.
