- Hey guys I know many of y’all have been dealing with the Pint X design problems and the results that translate into difficulty owning this board.
I have been trying to contact the manufacturer for over a year on this subject.
If appears they’ve finally listened and the newer models do not have this issue.
That does nothing for all the riders still dealing with it or others who paid to fix a problem that shouldn’t have existed in the first place.
In this video I will take apart a Pint X that had recently been dropped off at the shop and show everyone how best to handle the repair.
No, I don’t think that electric tape is good enough even tho it’s better than what’s there now.
Hopefully moving forward this will be less an issue for the riders on Pint X

Can you please provide the details of those cells so I can look up the datasheet. The green and pink 30Q 4212s or whatever?
Did you cut the O-ring? I know you said to add silicone to seal it, which leads me to believe you cut it. Just wanna make sure before i cut mine! Considering just boiling it myself as well.
Will my pintx work if i use non stock batteries ?
I have the same question. If my stock Pint X battery dies out can I swap the battery pack for a custom one (same specs) made from a battery builder or will it work only with FM "original" packs?
doesnt the bms throw a code when you unplug the battery and lock you out of the board?

Hey so I’d just look up any single sided foam gasket 2-4mm thick.
These are 1/2” strips.

Is it worth doing the power cable side in the same way to avoid the issue with the negative wires pulling off? Or is that a length of the wire/install issue, rather than rubbing on the box?
Make sure the negative is run around the side of the BMS tray so it can't be pulled off.
Thank you for providing this info ! Im glad to know the Pint/PintX doesnt brick like the GT when unplugging the battery. Im def gona check my pint tomorrow. Do you know if the newer pints have this issue fixed ? My board is a Hardware 7314
It's hit or miss. The box has been redesigned but they probably had thousands ready to go so they're gonna use those and deal w the headache later. I've been behind the scenes at other places. It's really shitty how they put that loss on the customer

I heard that lawyer was lookin… I’d be wary of any personal injury attorneys motivating factors (generally a payday for their client and therefore themselves) I’ve been privy to learning how that process works and it’s definitely not to benefit the general public or consumer.
While I am here to help all riders I am not here to shut this company down or line anyone’s pockets.
I hope that this company has made all the attempts it can at rectifying the situation and that more riders won’t be negatively affected in the future.
As much as I dislike many of FMs practices in terms of business I also know what these wheels mean to peoples lives and that is not worth a single payday.

@@Owmobshop I feel like FM has already crossed the line at this point. It's been 2 years since they emailed (blamed) you guys.
FM has made it clear that customer safety isn't even one of their priorities, only the customers money is important. Every Pint X rider is in danger and they have the audacity to lie about how they "care about rider safety."
Too may riders are in danger, too much time has passed, where is the recall? I am sorry Jon, but FM's actions make me believe that they deserve what's coming their way.
I think people will still find a way to ride if FM doesn't try to take everything down with them.
Man that's true. I really dislike the way they handled this. I know about a dozen ppl that fell for no reason except the battery was bad
I thought I saw a video saying you couldn’t unplug the battery or it would brick the controller? Has that change? Or was that just never a thing.
This happens on the GT model.
Only on updated boards. So updated Pint X you cannot. I pull the BMS and battery when that happens
So you fixed the one side, but what about the lead side problem as you explain at 6:40, dont you also want to put some foam tape on the wires here. Or how can you fix it so the wires dosent snap from the battery ?
Oh ok. The battery lead side is important too. If you don't trust the negative lead then remove the corner of the BMS tray wall and there will be no chance of it happening
Do you have a link for the foam you have? I couldn’t find it at Home Depot and could use a source.😊
Hey. I get mine from Amazon! Search single sided adhesive foam... I get .25/.5/.75/1mm it usually comes in a pack. I'll see if I can find the exact I use here...
