Excellent battle report, you can tell you guys are getting more experience from the first to second scenario. I love the terrain and well painted models. You guys put out some of the best bolt action content on TH-cam

Another great video thank you. Good terrain, nicely presented. It was reading the Stalingrad campaign book that really convinced me to get into Bolt Action so watching you play these scenarios is fascinating.
That's really cool. Thanks for watching. It's a really good book and follows the significant action from the battle. Most of the scenarios so far are decently balanced. We're getting into the city battles for the next several scenarios so we're looking forward to that.

Great video. One thing to remember on the Rally order is you still have to pass an unmodified order test (roll the test and ignore pins). I think the Rally order that was taken at 52:30 just rolled the D6+1 and didn’t ever pass the test. I love this game and appreciate you guys doing these battle reports. Keep up the great work!
Thanks a lot for watching and chiming in it's much appreciated! We made several errors in our early games and have been able to get several more in over the last few weeks. Scenario 3 should be getting done shortly as we've been busy painting up new models and terrain!

Played out the same scenario. Very tough for the Soviet player if the German bombardment has any level of success and if the Nebelwerfer finds its mark. In my case the bombardment eliminated a sniper team and the Nebelwerfer took 2 units off of the board

Oh man that bombardment on all the inexperienced troops and having less points. This scenario does seem a bit harsh. That poor russian Lt though, watching his attendant blow up and then going FUBAR, hilarious.
Yeah some rough moments there. You can feel the panic!
That officer team should have taken 2 hits on the initial bombardment- and unless you rolled a 1- both should have died. Fyi. Great battle report!! You bringing the campaign book to life!!
Thanks! Yeah we messed up a few things in the early matches. Don't think it would have changed much in this one though as I got smoked! Thanks again. Really looking forward to filming the next few as we continue in the city factory district.

@@overthetopgaming8498 just a friendly idea here- there are quite a few "generic" 1250 allied vs Germany battle reports. Whats missing in "you tube-land" is scenarios using special platoon and scenario rules. Like found in the d-day and Italy or Hungary books. Seeing how those play out would be sweet.

Reminds me a bit of a Korean War river/bridge crossing scenario I played ages ago. I was a UN force and opened with a heavy artillery bombardment of the opposite shore and smoke on the bridge. Hoping to make the Chinese think I was going for the bridge, I feinted there while launching an amphibious assault - man, what a mess that all was - not the best plan and ended with a small lodgement and huge casualty toll.
That sounds epic!
Need to remember to remove pins when passing orders, and also to take pins into account when shooting. Good game though. Keep up the good work.

You have to pass an order test to rally... pg 41 of the Bolt Action 2nd Edition Rulebook. "If a unit has pin markers and is given a rally order, it takes an order test, but ignores pin marker modifiers." 52:30
Another awesome battle report - I'm really enjoying these. Question - how did you guys make your balkas? Is that spray insulation foam?
Thanks again for watching. We're filming the next one this Friday. Peter made those Balkas from a base layer of polystyrene and coated them with spackle or drywall mud.
Great game. Great video. I played this scenario on Monday. I was the Germans. I lost heavily. The preliminary bombardment failed to come in. Then the canny Soviet player just concentrated on my boats. They are really fragile. Wounding on only a 4+, then destroying on a 4+, he had destroyed my boats before I was able to launch my assault.
Thanks for watching! I definitely feel that this could have swung in my favor, had i decided to rally on my first turn. Yes the boats were quite fragile but my dice failed me lol. We had a lot of fun with this one!
the German player can choose to take the Preliminary Bombardment or not, if they do take it though the Russians can start the game in ambush
Smoke is your friend while crossing rivers in vulnerable boats. Use the kit you choose to lay smoke in order to blind the opponent.
Any reason why you didn't use your Lt to get that double activation at around 30 min and cross with 2 boats at once?
At 37 I think only one of your rifles hit, you got a 5 and a 6, and you had: 3+ base, +1 for moving, +2 for target being down, and they weren't pointblank
Edit: Oh, and you got an exceptional damage, it wasn't on the video, did you pick the NCO?
At 1.09, units don't get to do a reaction against an assault if they're within 6

16:42 you have a -1 for every pin marker. The green squad had two pins, passed an order and lost one pin. Long range, inexperienced, 1 pin would have been sixes to hit. Have to read the rules.
The guys admit they make mistakes give them a break. They're producing battle reps when most people can't get games in.
Did you make your river? Or purchase?
I made it out of polystyrene primarily. Used paints and modge podge to finish it off.
Where did you get the German assault boats? Models/prints or did you build them?
Peter printed and painted those up.
@@overthetopgaming8498 Not sure how much printing he does, but I'd think those are relatively small files. Any chance he'd print up 4/5 for a price? I'd like to do this scenario and they'd probably be useful for France invasion as well.......
I think your best bet is to find someone locally that can print. The files were easily sourced online. Good luck!
