    Still in my opinion the most beautiful racing tracks out there. Flowing layout with oceanic scenary, can't go wrong with that.

    I like that you have a view of the water at this track. Seems pretty unique. I can’t think of another non-street circuit where that’s the case.

    any lap times?

    • @ozPanzer

      I timed it at 1:24.88. 6 seconds faster than a V8 Supercar and about half a second off outright lap record.

    Can you do a onboard that shows the speed an gear so we can see how fast these things go. Its hard to get a sensation of speed from cars like this.

    • @frozenragu
      @frozenragu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Watch it in 720p and look at his steering wheel. Its fast! 240kmhr on entry into turn 1

      @@frozenragu it was doing 287 before hitting the brakes. They were showing similar speeds (just under 290) when they ran at The Bend in 2019.
      That's what I like about the S5000 cars. Big power with not a lot of downforce which forces the drivers to be a lot more precise with their steering and to also have throttle control because it would be easy to light up the rears in one of these things.

    How would phillip island hold up as a F1 track? After watching this I'm not sure..
    I'd like to see f1 moved away from the Albert Park snooze fest but definitely not lost to NSW..

      Would need some investment to bring it to FIA grade 1 standard. The racing would for sure be better; but as an event, no

      @@frozenragu it's good enough for Moto GP, World Super bikes, what's the difference?

    • @frozenragu
      @frozenragu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@75dt21 FIM track standards are not as demanding as FIA grade 1, which is the required certification for F1. Only 44 grade 1 tracks worldwide. The moto gp is a great event because based on my experience the majority are real bike enthusiasts who love to travel to see the event. I think the economy of the f1 grand prix is helped by its proximity to the CBD, so it attracts people who would otherwise not go. Also being the first event of the season the location allows for more events for sponsors etc etc

      I want to see what this would do at Mt Panorama. I'll bring my helmet and firesuit for that opportunity because this much torque up that hill in such a light chassis would be amazing.
