What I would have absolutely loved is if, somehow, that end troll, where the thwomp lands on the pow... somehow forced you go back to the "Don't hit the pow" room.
The No POW hint section is just Good Game Design. The creator trained you to not hit the POW blocks, and if you don’t learn, they gently reinforce that lesson by sending you back to the classroom. (Reference to Carl’s explanation of Good Game Design with his underwater level and training the player that they need more P Switches.)
Carl actually asked for the “no pow” section, in one of his videos he said someone should make a troll level where if you fail you have to go back through the level to hit a spike. In this case it’s a pit but still
Trying to untangle the red coins... 10:55 - the shell kicked here goes offscreen and somehow collects one of the red coins in the right hand column, to make it look like there's one on each. 12:20 - the shell kicked here, meanwhile, goes offscreen and somehow collects the coin in the middle column, so you only see the two on the right, to make it look like a coin has moved. 29:35 - this key is the red coin key, as Shenanigans collect all the coins at once (presumably there's a shell or smth behind the clown car, and some very elaborate teleport nonsense) 31:05 - after the key death, we can see all of the red coins, and there are in fact two in the right column and one in the middle, revealing that the previous coin-moving trick was, after all, a careful coin-collecting trick Meanwhile, the snake block trick, I mostly get... Like, afaik a snake block can only have one path, and it's definitely the same snake block under the pipe both times, so there must be a switcharoo happen, that the snake block goes under the lava, and then a _different_ snake block comes up beside the launcher, and there are two options for that second snake, one that goes straight and one that wiggles. Those two snake blocks can't have overlapping paths, so the launcher moves over by a block to disguise it. So far, so normal. I'm just not sure where it gets set up... my best guess is that it's when you're being pushed through the bumper, you have a mushroom and are being pushed down by the cannon, pushed down enough to activate a snake under the lava maybe? But I'm not sure how you make it be a different snake depending on the switch state... can snake blocks be spawn-blocked? I didn't think they could...
yesss thank you for explaining.. but how DOES the shell actually collect the coin? i'm missing something. is shell working different when offscreen ? The Crimson Pancake is like walled off, how does shell get in there ?
the snakes, there are 3 of them.the first 1 when you come out of the pipe, which pushes you all the way through the bumper. the other 2 are under the poison. the coin, first one the shell hit a pow and the screen moved so shell would die, but the coin was collected a couple of seconds after the shell set the pow off after the wrentchy guy fell into the poison. i dont know how that happened, i looking at the smm2 level viewer program right now, there are no shells near the red coins, and with the 1 ways, there is no way to get them by throwing a shell, or kicking a shell up. but hitting a brick with a coin under it with an explosion, that would collect it.
